First tried basmati rice at an Indian restaurant almost 2hrs away. Trying to re-create that I bought my first bag of basmati rice at our local big box store. It was almost $5 for a 1lb bag. But I was hooked. It is so good. But with a family of 5 I was having a hard time justifying the cost. Then I set out to Sams club. Mind you are closest Club is 1 hour away. Thankfully Sam's had this enormous bag of rice for a really reasonable price. Lasts at least 6 months(maybe longer if I didn't give some away to family members). The only time I use regular white rice now is for spanish rice. Great value and taste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I noticed the difference in smell as soon as I opened this bag of rice and I love the way it cooked up. Not clumpy not sticky not hard but a little bit more firm and definitely fluffier than any rice I've had. The directions are simple and if you follow them you will have perfect rice in 15 minutes. Trying this kind of rice inspired me to do some research and evidently Basmati has a lower glycemic index which is better for blood sugar so that's even an extra Plus for this type of rice. Very tasty and I only added a small amount of salt and a small amount of olive oil as a side dish with salmon and it was delicious. I will definitely be buying this again, will recommend, and I'm very happy that the large bag was resealable. Thank you so much for the chance to try Royal authentic Basmati rice!

I love Basmati and this is the best tasting rice ever in my opinion. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes it's labeled non-GMO and sometimes it isn't. If it isn't, that means it's been sprayed with glyphosate and I won't buy it. Evidentally some harvests are and some are not. So, recommended with reservations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I watched Katie Lee and she shared how she bakes her rice. I tried this method first and the rice is amazing. I placed the 2 cups of rice in a 9x9 baking pan, with 4 cups boiling water and 3 Tablespoons of butter. Cover with foil bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Family was super excited and cane back for seconds.

My family loved it… I made it with a recipe that has been handed down in my family… Pepper steak and it went so well with the basmati rice. The rice had such a nice texture and really held up to the gravy.  I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. It is honestly the best rice I have had. I am definitely going to go back and try different varieties of their rice. 

We have purchased Royal Basmati Rice many times before but this last time purchased in May 2020 had bugs in it. We tried to remove some but there's too many. I took out 3, then 8, then 15 bugs.... and I keep finding bugs! I've heard putting the rice under hot sun will get the bugs out so I'm trying that. I'm not sure returning to get a different one is worth since it's high chance that the whole batch most likely will be bug infested also! Emailed Sams Club customer service. Maybe I should share the pictures to Sams Clubs account on Instagram and Facebook!

Also, it's nice and fluffy which I love. It's a great rice to have with meat and veggies. I would highly recommend this rice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Royal Authentic Basmati stove top rice cooked up nice and fluffy. It was easy to make, had a nice texture, and tastes so good! I like that we can make a little or a lot depending on what we are cooking and for how many people. Leftover rice was also still tasty!

This has been a staple in our home for years but this last order missed the mark in a big way. When cooked, the texture was more like broken rice and it did not cook evenly. Some grains came out undercooked while others overcooked. It was uncharacteristically starchy which makes me think what was packaged as basmati was either not basmati at all or an extremely old batch. I'm not sure I will ever buy from Sam's, or this brand again, and would probably spend the extra money to buy something from our local Asian grocery store that is guaranteed to meet our very simple expectation of what basmati rice ought to be.
