The smell is really awful, like strong wintergreen. It also will dissolve nail polish, I used it on my hands. I got it because it has camphor and menthol, not sure if the awful smell is a scent or one of the other ingredients. It is hard to use because of strong awful smell. Also, very little pain relief.

I was skeptical at 1st, Bengay is kind of a joke brand for guys and my husband wouldn`t touch the stuff. I used a papertowl to rub it on to my lower back - I didn`t want it on my hands. The smell isn`t the worst it`s kind of menthol smelling. I could feel my back tingle a little then contiuned on with my day. After about 2 hours I noticed that I wan`t noticing much back pain. So - it helped. I don`t know exactly how long it took but i went about my business and felt better for having used it.

I received a free sample of Bengay Ultra Strength Pain Relieving Cream. Bengay Ultra Strength is great at relieving my everyday muscle aches and back pain. I like the fact that I can use a cream to provide just as good relief as a pill. I am not one who likes taking pills. This cream formula is perfect for me. I only wish it had a bit more pleasant fragrance to it, but this is perfect for applying at night while I sleep.

Bengay Ultra Strength really works and overall I was impressed. As soon as you o_pen the box the smell brings you back but I like it. Sad but couldn`t use it but at night and then had to wash it off in the morning or else everyone could smell it. For my joint pain, that I get from day to day activities and working out it worked well. I think it`s worth the try just remember to wash your hands or put it on using gloves like I did.

I received my sample of Bengay and could not wait to try it. I suffer from daily back pain and I am always looking for something to help relive the pain. I am always sceptical about new products..never expecting the results I received. I used it first thing in the morning and had a day were I could do more daily activities. My daughter also used the Bengay after running to relieve her leg cramps/pain and she loved it. She now uses the Bengay after her runs. We would both recomme_nd Bengay to others.

As a child my mom always applied Bengay to certain muscle injury. I think it's a wonderful product and now I use it as an adult after my workout .It really helps my muscle pain and gives me alot of relief .Thank you For making this product .You only need a tiny bit of ointment than wash your hands afterwards. Love this product .

I have a spinal condition called DISH of the Spine where part of my lower spine is fused. I cannot lay flat and have to sleep on my side to avoid pain. However, sometimes the pain still is strong and I have used Tramadol to stop the pain but I did not like the after effects of the drug. Lidocaine 4% did not work. Ultra Strength Bengay cream does the trick of stopping the pain every time. The pain will not let me get to sleep so I get up and apply the Bengay and in a few minutes I am sound asleep for the night. No aftereffects and no need to renew a prescription. IT IS WONDERFUL. I should add that it is not a nightly thing but just when the pain starts because I seem to be in the wrong position on my side.

I am reading these reviews for ultra strength and I am thinking I must have gotten the new stuff. It is hot, like I was beginning to get worried that is how I wound up on Ben gay's site looking for relief/directions. I am ASSUMING Ultra means HOT HOT HOT and the next one down should be milder. If you have back or neck pain you have my guarantee you will not be thinking about it for good hot while.
