The most recent applicator change/update was a huge step back. It's been said by others but I'm going to say again...nothing to hold on to, it doesn't insert well, 1/4 of the time the tampon doesn't get pushed out of the applicator. Not convenient at work when I don't have many options. I've been using these for years but will be looking for another brand. Plus the packaging. It used to so simple: purple, yellow, green. Now all the packages are the same kaleidoscope with bits of yellow and a letter R or green and a letter S. (I haven't been able to find light since the change.) It is not convenient. Because I have trouble with the applicator & putting in, it is not comfortable. I almost always feel it & it feels like it's about to fall out. Also because of the applicator & the tampon not leaving it, it is also not discreet: I am back & forth getting new tampons. (Also not economical as I waste a good 1/4 of each box.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the only tampons I like using. They are easy to insert and have a comfortable/easy to hold onto grip. The package is also easy to open and I like that it has that sideways partial opening so you can place the plastic piece in it to discard. It's a comfortable product to wear and removal is also easy - the string is easy to grip onto.

There is nothing to grip onto at the end of the applicator, making it almost impossible to insert. Obviously, designed by a graphic designer on a computer screen, and not designed for practical use! I've used tampons for 20 years and this is the worst design ever. I will never, ever buy Tampax again!

I really liked so much the former design of the applicator, but now the grip is very slippery because be border at the end was removed and the shape was changed (oval instead of rounded). I had such a hard time using it that I decided to use another brand until the applicator grip is changed back. And, as another customer said, the grip should be longer to allow enough room for the fingers.

First, let me say how much I used to truly adore Tampax Pearl. After being held hostage by pads (and even good pads aren't really all that great), I discovered Tampax Pearl at the outset of the product. I liked the advertising. It felt like they were really pushing something different. I tried them, and loved them! I had no issues with the product at all until earlier this year. Something happened to the Super Plus applicators. I used to be able to insert them in the middle of the night, half asleep, with the bathroom lights off. Now, I can't hardly push the plunger wide awake, after a shower, in the bright lights of my bathroom. It is SO frustrating. So much so, that I recently switched products. I thought that perhaps I had just received a bad batch (you know, an imperfect box), so I foolishly purchased another. Same problem. So that's more money wasted. I am so hurt, because I happily told all my girlfriends how much I loved your product.

The Tampax Pearl is the best tampon I have ever used. The extra material thats added at the end of the tampon never allows any leaks. Thats my favorite part of these tampons, not to mention they are comfortable to wear and allow you to carry on your normal daily activities without a second thought.

I work as a chef, so my entire shift is on my feet and non stop. I don't have time for my tampon to fail me, and these did. I bled through 3 of them on a shift, to the point the last time it ruined my clothing. I thought "maybe I was just too active for what they expect" only to find they even failed when relaxing at home. As if this time isn't frustrating enough, this doesn't make it any easier. I'm ready to just throw nearly full box and find something that wont fail me.

Why do we really need things to be any more difficult for our period? The new packaging with these little black arrows to tear open the tampon is horrible! Pieces of the wrapper rip off in my hand before I can actually get the package open. After shredding apart the wrapper to get the tampon out, don't expect to be able to fit that applicator back into the wrapper. The packaging is unsanitary and just makes using this brand unnecessarily difficult. I won't use again unless they go back to the pull tabs!!

i have been using tampax pearl for 6 years. the smooth plastic insert's make it easy to use with little or no discomfort. for me it was only uncomfortable at first. because i was a virgin; which is way inserting it at first was uncomfortable. it really is the best source of protection i can find and its not expensive at all. you will enjoy it.
