smart remote is made cheap and breaks easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wheel broke on my smart remote. I don't understand how this can even happen. I have never had any of my remotes break. The TV is so nice but the remote does not match that same quality.

Can't stand this remote

This thing does my head in completely. It will only connect to the Wi-Fi if the pointer works, when I try to re register it, I get the dreaded “Bluetooth needs to be initialised” drives me insane. Will never buy another LG again.

Won't work after 12 months!

This came with our new TV 12 months ago. First the volume arrows wouldn't work, then the centre button won't work. Now the home button and the settings button won't work! Absolutely useless!

Broke

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this remote not even a year and it appears it's going out. At first I thought it was the battery but it wasn't. So far I have to tap it against something for it to work. Bummer

Horrific

This remote is absolute trash. The “mouse” function is aggravating, buttons are in wrong places, and for God's sake if LGs goal was to make a desirable, it should illuminate! We have the technology. If I hadn't won this tv, I would return it because of the remote alone.

Didn't last long

Worked fine at first but now it seems it's on its last leg and it's only been 12 months. Replaced batteries, disconnected tv to try to get it to work. The scroll and pointer declined in function after about 6 months. Obviously you can't do anything without the remote, so it's very frustrating. The tv also has the sound cutting out frequently. Disappointed in LG

I've been using this remote for a week now so I'm still getting used to it. I do like the remote but it could improve in small areas. It could use a backlight feature to see in dark rooms, buttons added for FFW/RW and 'return channel' , and the area that really bugs me is not being able to program the 'guide' button to accommodate the cable box (set top box). It only goes to LG's internet channels which already has another button (-list). I haven't tried the voice control though. But overall, its a good remote that is comfortable in the hand and isn't too big. The mouse-like pointing is convenient as well.

Brilliant design & functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never dreamed I'd appreciate a remote enough to bother writing a positive review but the MR18 magic remote indeed deserves praise. The accelerometer based cursor operation along with wheel operation & general ergonomics make this the best remote control I've ever used.

LG Remote - FRUSTRATING

We purchased an LG "Smart TV" with a remote that when TV gave prompt msgs. like, << or >> to rewind or fast forward does NOT exist on this remote-I have spent hours, and hours reading, researching watching YouTubes.....not sure if this is due to the "Smart TV" or it's "Remote" eitheror - not purchasing this Brand again....

Total failure in this remote model AKB75855501

I bought 65" tv come with this remote. 1st the rubber key pad all faded just in 3 months. I online order another original with same model number.. the center wheel select roller broken in just 2 months. So i shift back to the fadded remote and now the right move key not functioning. What a shame from this LG remote control. TV no problem so far..
