Having my first cat in a few years I wasn't able to find my old trusted brand of kitty litter, Max Scoop. Being in a small apartment odor control is at the top of my list of priorities, this litter being lighter than others caught my eye (third floor walkup), I decided to give it a try. Tidy Cats Lightweight is a good litter. My cat is a young male eating medium quality kitten food. I don't smell the litter at all, there is a slight perfume scent that I only notice when I'm scooping. I do scoop at least once a day into a Litter Locker. Clumping is adequate. There are sometimes small pieces that break off if I shake the scoop too vigorously but mostly it's not a problem. There is a bit of tracking a couple of feet in front of the litter box but it doesn't go farther than that and I don't find pieces on furniture or in my cats toes. I keep a small broom and dust pan beside the box for tidying up, the extra step is worth not having to carry heavier litter up my stairs.

This is the best thing to have happened to pet care products! Light weight cat litter!! Why didn't anyone think of this before. I am arthritic and found the old style litter box/jug too heave to comfortably handle. This Tidy Cat light-weight clumping litter is such a pleasure. It almost makes litter-box scooping fun! (I said almost, lol). Has the same, or better, odor fighting properties as the "regular" (read heavy) litters on the market today.

All other cat litter should be removed from the shelves. This cat litter is extremely light that it at first impression, one thinks no way is this going to work. Yes, that was my assumption. I'm glad I was wrong. One litter box we have is big and I struggle lifting it to move so I can clean it, I used this litter and went to lift the box to clean and about fell over because I used the same strength as always and the box was no where near the weight it used to be. The litter clumps nice. It smells great, and it sifts when you scoop it wonderfully. There is minimal dust. I'm so glad Tidy Cats came out with this. Only one thing wrong...it should cost way less than it does. Less weight in shipment should bring down the cost. Sell it for $7.00 and it will fly off shelves. In fact, I can never find it at Walmart, I have to always ask a sells person to locate some in the back or on the skid. Walmart, you know this sells, stock it better!!! I'm a loyal and continue buyer of this litter. Please Tidy Cats keep making it and Walmart PLEASE keep it on the shelves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very lightweight litter which is nice! Except the litter still seems to stick to my cats paws and trails outside of the box some. But that probably doesn’t have to do with the product. It clumps well.

The only complaint I have is this creates a layer of dust on furniture and my cat tracks it all over apartment. It’s unfortunate because it’s so lightweight and easy for me to lift. It clumps fine and my cat likes it. If I %26could figure out how to quell the dust and keep her from tracking it I’d continue buying it.

It’s amazing. Very lightweight! In the container, in their boxes, and even when full of pee. Taking out the mess is so much easier. My only complaint is the smell. It’s VERY fragrant. Better than smelly smells but my senior kitty has been coughing and sneezing since we switched. I’m not sure if I can keep buying this. His health is more important than my conveniences.

My cats paws turned blue because of the dye in this. There is also a lot of tracking with this litter too, and i worry about the amount of litter and dye that my cat is ingesting because of the amount that he will leave in my bed after going to the box. Only good thing is that it has very tight clumps and stops the smell of the waste well.

What can you say about a great cat litter that does what it says. Having one that's actually lightweight is a huge bonus for someone with constant back pain. Lots less odor to deal with when scooped every day or two. Actually has a pleasant scent. I've tried all kinds of cat litter but to me, by far this one is the best!

This litter is definitely lightweight. It does clump and control odor. That's why I gave it 2 stars. However, it doesn't get 5 like other Purina Tidy Cat litter. When we tried this lightweight litter, we had problems with the litter sticking to our cat's paws. It stuck so much that large clumps were stuck in between our cat's toes. Since going back to the regular Tidy Cat we get, we no longer have this problem. We use the blue lid or the black lid which are also low dust. It must be something about the red lid lightweight version that caused the problem. I do not recommend this.
