No funky aftertaste and just thick enough to be filling as long as you shake it well before drinking. I use this as a breakfast replacement and it usually holds me for about 4-5 hours before lunch. Then, I discovered these shakes and they taste DELICIOUS! They have a smooth texture, rather than chalky like other brands, which helps me swallow and not gag. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ensure enliven was recommended and given to my brother who is getting ready to have a kidney removed due to cancer. He was very week suffering from a swollen prostate when they discovered the tumor. So when he was released from the hospital they advised him to drink at least 2 a day to recapture his strength before the up coming surgery. In a matter of a week of drinking 2 a day he has regained his strength and is feeling a lot better. I have been buying him the Ensure Enliven weekly and I must say he does enjoy the strawberry the most. He has said that he wished they had a coffee flavored one so I suggested he mix it with some coffee flavored syrup into the vanilla ones and see what he thinks of that. But thanks to ensure I feel confident he's taking in the nutrition his body needs to heal. He will continue to drink them during his recovery period after the surgery also.

I started a regimen of giving him his morning wake up shake (Chocolate Enlive). Not only did it help him digest his medicine better by coating his stomach, it brought him back physically.
