My heart specialist put me on a new heart medicine and I started to drinking 2-3 Ensure Plus a day. 10 months later my EF is 59% due to the new heart medicine. The extra protein and minerals from the ensures helped. My weight was down to 100 lbs after the heart attack and now I am back to normal of 125 lbs which I know the weight gain is from the Ensures as it took months before I could eat a decent meal.

We have been told that we are miracles as my husband is walking and I am alive. Once we got home from the hospital our eating habits were not the best. We both lived on Ensure for over a month. I believe that without having the added calories this twice-a-day drink provides, my body might just do a permanent disappearing act. I initially tried several brands but prefer Ensure to the others - my taste buds also appreciate it and at least my weight is holding steady at a meager 84 lbs. I'm now giving this to my very wonderful (but fragile) 96-year-old mom after a major surgery and difficult recovery - she tolerates it well and it seems to be helping with her appetite loss and dietary restrictions.
