[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Originally I was scared to try this product. After using it for a couple of weeks I am just not starting to see a slight difference. I have very dark hair so I am expecting that results will take longer than others. I am hopefully that with continual use I will start to see some major differences!

I was so excited to use this Gillette Venus Silk-expert. I took it out of the package and got a little intimidated! I've had professional laser hair removal so it didn't seem possible that I could do it myself. I buzzed through the easy to read instructions and found myself a little more confident. I prepped my skin with the included razor (bonus!!) I plugged it in and was ready to go. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use. My skin tone is very light so it was automatically set to the highest setting. I used the gliding setting and went up my leg in a breeze. The area around my ankle and knees were most "challenging" but even that was a breeze. If the contact area wasn't positioned correctly it turned red and I moved it slightly or pressed down a little firmer then it was ready to go. I would say it probably took 10-15 minutes per leg but that was mostly because I was going slower to ensure I did it properly. There was a slight pinch feeling when the laser zapped but it was minimal and if you have sensitive skin you can press a button to turn down the intensity. The lights on the side allow you to easily tell if you have good contact with your skin and adjust as needed. I would consider myself a novice at home treatments but feel as though this product was so easy anyone could use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), powered by Braun, once a week for 8 weeks now and am very happy with the results. My target area for hair removal is my underarms, which appears to have minimal visible hairs after this 8 week period. When I first received the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL, I was concerned about how my skin would react to the treatment, as I am very sensitive to pain. I was delighted that when used as directed, the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL feels like a rubber-band snapping against my skin. It also feels a bit warm as the light pulses. The Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL is very easy to use. After plugging into the outlet, the unit is powered on and ready to be used. My skin tone is read automatically with its unique SensoAdapt skin tone sensor, which adjusts the intensity of the IPL for safety and efficiency. There is a small button to select one of 3 modes, including an "extra-gentle mode" for sensitive skin like mine. The other button (a much bigger one) is pressed for the pulsed light, and it can be held down for working on larger areas, known as "gliding mode." The gliding mode automatically pulses about once every 2 seconds. Just remember to close your eyes when the light is pulsing. I am very happy with the results as seen in my photo. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. I have had no issues or adverse effects with using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert IPL.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Gillette Venus Silk-expert for 4 weeks now and the result is remarkable. I am still shaving, but only once per month. It is very easy to use. However, if you do have a tattoo, please make sure that you DO NOT touch it with the Silk-expert. It is in the instructions, but I need to stress this. I have found that when going around the boney parts of the leg, it is easier to turn the device sideways.

Initial thought, not even out of the box, "Wow, I'm excited for this!" Nicely packaged with a lot of "DO NOT" warnings on the outside which frightened me a bit to be honest but many were common sense. I did however have plans to use this on my legs and a "DO NOT" was on tattoos. I have a large tattoo on my shin and not sure if I want to use the product too close to it so for now I am using it on my under arms and bikini line. I have medium-dark brown hair, light skin and most of my body hair is dark brown as well. I followed the instructions, shaved and started on my armpits first. I have had in office laser facials and also laser tattoo removal so I have experience to compare this product to. It is easy to use, and the initial feeling is like a quick flash of heat on the area. I did not experience any redness or pain after and this was on the highest setting for my armpits. For the bikini area I did turn the setting down and it felt exactly the same, like a flash of hot heat on each area. No reddness or after issues. The only thing I can find that needs improvement is the treatment window. If it could be smaller or have an attachment to focus on smaller areas, like around my tattoo so I could do my legs that would be helpful. So far I love it though and am looking forward to seeing results!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am stoked about trying the new Silk-expert! I decided to start small and shaved my left underarm. I will treat this area for 12 weeks and continue to shave my right underarm so that I can compare the two. I plugged in the device and made sure to place it on my skin as directed. It was a little warm but not uncomfortable. I moved it back and forth and tried not to go back over any areas. That was kind of hard so I fear I may have missed some spots. It took less than a minute and 3 minutes later I don't feel anything. No redness either! No pain and the potential for no hair growth over time...Sign me up! I can't wait to try this every week and monitor the progress.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little worried trying this product as I eagerly would love to eliminate the need to shave but was concerned that this might be too uncomfortable or painful. Boy was I wrong!! The Gillette Venus Silk-expert was SOO easy to use and very pain free! I have fair skin and can get a tan when exposed to the sun, my hair however is very dark. The ease of use for this product was amazing, simply plug and play and you are ready to start zapping hair growth away. Caution- you do have to make sure that you have removed all of the hair in the treatment area first otherwise you get to smell the not so pleasant smell of singed hairs. Due to the summer time and our multiple beach visits, I was able to complete 4 weekly treatments and I can already tell the outstanding results! I usually have to shave my legs every 2 days to get rid of those unsightly hairs. After my first treatment I noticed that i went almost 4 days with minimal hair growth. After more treatments the timing grew before I had to shave again. The picture I attached are of my legs not having been shaved for an entire week and half and I can barely see any hair growth! This product is a must have for anyone looking to eliminate the need for shaving in a convenient pain free way. The only downside is that it is not instant and will take some time to see permanent results but lucky for me the results were noticeable in a very short amount of time. Braun did provide me this item complimentary as a review, but given the success, I would definitely invest in purchasing one for myself or friend in the future.

To start off I'll be completely honest, I have made several attempts at hair removal systems. I have tried hair removal lotions, creams, buffers and even waxing. Nothing has worked for me. I decided to use the new Gillette Venus Silk-expert on my underarms. After shaving and drying completely as instructed, I did a small sample test spot. It has been 24 hours and I have no reaction, redness or soreness. So today I did the entire under arm area. Feeling optimistic about the results. It is easy to use and small enough to handle without being bulky. I had not problem using it on my underarm in the mirror.

So excited to start with...It come with really nice package. I open the box. The machines is on the top and the charger with manual is on below layer. It is much easier if you saw the video before use. On the manual that said need to test in small area on first use and after 24 hours if nothing happen which means your skin is ok no hurt no allergy than you can keep using in entire area one a week and keep routine in 3-12 weeks cyclic. I just do the test today since I just received it. I have a really sensitive skin hope I can continue to try the entire process.

I have 3 more treatments to complete. I was selected to receive this product free of charge in exchange for an honest review. I am THRILLED with the results. I have seen a 90% reduction in hair growth so far. My legs are so smooth even 5-7 days after shaving/lasering. My arm pits I am seeing about an 80% reduction. I am also 1 treatment behind, so that could be the reason. Oh to NOT have to shave! Especially with summer right around the corner! I would gladly spend 30 minutes a week doing laser hair removal to not have to shave ALL WEEK LONG! And, I bet this goes even longer. I could probably get away with 3 weeks no shaving, but can't test that theory while I am still doing my 12 treatments. I have had more people touch my legs during the past 9 weeks than I have since I've been married! I am in such awe that I keep telling everyone to feel how smooth my legs are. Several friends have wanted to borrow it when I'm done, but NO WAY! They are more than welcome to come to my house to use it, but no way am I letting this out of my sight. It is too valuable. I still don't like the things I listed in my previous review. The glide feature takes a long time to reset. It doesn't work on the front of the leg on the bone. It's not a deal breaker since all I have to do it hold the device vertical and treat it that way. I don't even want to talk about the few things I dislike about the product because I LOVE not having hairy legs, razor-burned legs, stubbly legs! I love not having to place my foot on the shower wall, lather my leg with cream, shave, then switch. Do you know how dangerous that is?! Especially after I switch legs, the shower is slippery. So, not only did this reduce hair, it quite possibly saved me from taking a nasty fall in the shower. :) I originally rated this with 4 stars, but the pros completely outweigh the cons and this gets a 5 star rating from me!
