[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just finished my week 4 use of Gillette® Venus® Silk-expert Powered by Braun. I received one from Braun 4 weeks ago. It has been very easy to use. Simply place on skin and push the button. The Braun did everything else. It determined my skin color and the power it needed to work the best. Mine was on the highest setting because I have light skin and dark hair. It also has a button to reduce the power it you don't like the higher power. After using this for 4 weeks I have noticed a difference in my hair thickness. I used this on my underarm of one arm so I would have a good comparison. The hair that grows in on the treated side is much thinner and softer. I have treated my legs also. I have seen some thinning of hair and some spots that are not growing back. I look forward to seeing the difference as I continue using it.

And I know that the initial instructions said it will be a few weeks before I start noticing results. It is not hard at all to set up - you literally plug it in, press the button, & go. However, you aren't supposed to go over the same area twice, but in order to get the thing to lie flat enough on some areas I have to turn it, which doubles up on an area I already did. It has taken some getting used to. My skin is super pale and my hair is super dark, so the power scale shoots up which is a tiny bit scary, thinking that I'm going to set myself on fire somehow. But using it is actually really easy, aside from what I stated above. It does take some time, so I have started with just my lower legs. If it does work I will do other areas!

New growth is finer and takes much longer to grow back. It did not hurt me at all. I have very pale and dark hair and I believe that I am the ideal candidate for IPL hair removal. I am so happy! I always considered laser hair removal but something held me back. I'm so glad I waited because now I have this awesome device in the privacy of my own home! Thank you again Braun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved trying the silk expert. I've never had any laser hair removal done so the process was new to me. I found it to be straught forward and easy enough for anyone. My only recommendation is taking your time. I found that if you aren't careful hair regrowth will look pretty silly. Take it from me! But for the spots that were treated, I found no new growth! Amazing at home device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good! I was so excited to get this from bzzagent. I have used it twice so far on my underarms. I haven't noticed a significant change in my hair growth just yet but I know I will. I plan on starting on my legs in two weeks when I get back from vacation as the directions say to not be in direct sunlight for seven days after use. I can't wait to use it on my legs! It is very easy to use and the directions are easy. It is a weird sensation when you use it but that goes away in like two seconds. Not too uncomfortable to stop using it or anything. While I know I still have to use it quite a bit more to get to where no hair grows, but I do believe that the hair on my underarm is already growing back more slowly then before the two times I have used the silk expert . I am excited for the next few weeks of use!

I have waited the full 8 weeks to give my verdict and I have to admit- despite my doubts, it really does work! The first 3 times I tried the Venus Silk Expert I felt that it was a waste of my time. First of all, the pulsing light was really bright! I mean shockingly bright. I was worried that the light would hurt my eyes so I started using sunglasses with it. The light didn't hurt or burn, but it did leave my skin a little red. I used the Venus Silk Expert on my left arm pit and I didn't use it on my right arm pit for comparison. I noticed no difference in the hair growing back at first. After about 4 treatments (4 weeks) I did notice that the hair in my left armpit was growing back more slowly than the hair in my right armpit. I also felt that the sunglasses made using this product much easier- especially if you are using it close to your face. Now- after the full 8 weeks of treatment, my skin is used to the pulse-light and it no longer gets red after treatments and no hair is growing in that armpit. Now that the trial is over, I am going to start using it on both armpits so that I never have to shave there again. Thanks Venus Silk Expert!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that the new Gillette Venus Silk-expert is amazing! It's easy to use. It is ready to go the second that you plug it in. You can easily sit on your couch, in a chair, or any where that you are comfortable to use this amazing tool! I used it for the first time the day after I shaved. I ran it down my lower leg and it didn't hurt to use. You might get a bit uncomfortable on sensitive skin. I used this tool on both of my lower legs, bikini area, and underarms. The most uncomfortable would have been my bikini area. I would want to know what to expect from someone that has already used it prior to purchasing. I believe that this is an amazing product and I have already recommended it to all my friends and family.

Feels very quality as far as materials and function. Unfortunately the zaps, shocks during each light pulse were way too intense for me to even use. I was NOT expecting that and it made me jump and squeal the first time. I am totally a sissy when it comes to pain or fear, perhaps someone who is less sensitive would do just fine with it. All in all my review must be inconclusive.

I treated just my lower legs to start, since it's the easiest place to reach plus the easiest place to tell if it's working. I swear the hair grew back a little slower than it usually does! Normally I can only go 2 days before desperately needing to shave again, but this time I went 3. I treated again today (week #2), and we'll see if the results are even better this time! I did feel a little stinging with the pulse occasionally, but it's not even as painful as tweezing a hair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate to shave, so I was excited to have the Chance to try the new Gillette Venus Silk-expert! I was super impressed when I opened the box. It looks and feels like a solid and expensive piece of equipment. . I started by shaving both of my legs with the included razor. I decided to only use the Device on my right leg so that I will be able to compare the results at the end of the trial period. I held the treatment window to my leg and the LEDs lit all the way up, indicating a very light skin tone and the highest power setting. NOTE: there is a Gentle Setting you can also use, but I went with the automatically detected setting. You can hold down the button and it will flash every couple seconds or you can press the button for individual flashes. I used both methods depending on where on my leg I was applying the device. The flashes are very bright, l and for the most part I only felt a little heat at the area but it was not painful for me. It only took a couple minutes to finish my leg and now about a half hour later I am not experiencing any negative side affects. I Really hope this Gillette device works as promised and will continue to use it weekly and will provide further updates!
