It's a very efficient tool in many ways

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a dental professional, it's definitely been my favorite for years now! I absolutely love it!

Best Toothbrush

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best Toothbrush I have ever had. It works great. I like the fact it has Bluetooth so I can keep track of my brushing habits. My mouth feels so clean.

Noisy

The unit itself is excellent. My teeth have never felt cleaner. The only negative is that the brush heads rattle and sound like they are going to fall apart or need to be oiled.

Not the Best

It holds a charge well, and I appreciate the pressure sensor. I used the app once or twice, but find it extremely inconvenient since it requires the phone be at eye level. I'm not going to buy a suction cup cell phone holder for my bathroom mirror... I don't even like taking my phone into the bathroom. Seriously, yuck. So many germs in a bathroom, and the kind that can give you pinkeye. I've never been the type of gross person who uses their cell phone in a bathroom. Disgusting. But to each their own, I guess. My issue is with the timer. I want to brush my teeth 'til they feel clean by MY standards -- not the toothbrush's -- so it briefly stops brushing here and there. It's extremely annoying. For the price I paid, I expected a toothbrush that wouldn't limit my brushing or dictate how long I should brush my own teeth... but that's what I got. I'm extremely disappointed with this awful feature on an otherwise decent product.

We appreciate your feedback on the app and built-in timer, Andi, and we’ll make sure its heard by our team. If you’re not a fan of bringing your phone in the bathroom we hope it helps to know that’s only necessary for the position detection portion of the Oral-B App - you can sync your brush streak after you’ve brushed! Please understand the built-in timer doesn’t actually stop brushing, but pulses every 30 seconds to help you keep time and know when to more quadrants. There is a longer stutter when the brush reaches the dentist-recommended 2 minutes, but will not turn off so you can still keep brushing. We’d love to help you get the best out of your Oral-B Genius 6000, please give us a call at (800) 566-7252.

Effective, but extra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, so we've all heard the hype about electric tootbrushes - that they're exponentially more effective at cleaning than a manual, etc etc. Before using the Oral-B Pro 6000, I had only ever used a manual toothbrush before and I've never had so much as a cavity, so I take all that with a grain of salt. After using this electric toothbrush for a while I've actually found my mouth as a whole to feel less clean than when using a manual toothbrush. Yes, I believe it is effective at cleaning my TEETH themselves - but I'm not as confident about how it cleans my gums and other parts of my mouth. For context though, I don't have a very large mouth or teeth (unlike every actor in a toothpaste commercial) and so I felt it was a bit difficult to maneuver this brush. I think maybe a more traditionally shaped brush head than the round one included with the brush might help with the "not as clean" feeling, but the price for replacement heads is a lil...steep. The idea of a brush like this is that it's supposed to be more convenient and practical - I'm not sure it was that for me, though. I tend to view hygienic practices as a kind of meditative thing. I'm by myself and can focus on one simple thing at a time. The noise, motion, and interactivity of this brush seemed to disrupt that for me and I couldn't really get over it. I find that mechanical noises stress me out easier than most people though. I do think the timer function and the various brushing modes are convenient and useful, however my brush didn't give any indication of brushing too hard even when I was attempting to trigger that function (just to test it). I also didn't get much value out of the app feature. I think I'd rather sacrifice Bluetooth connectivity in a toothbrush for a more affordable price. The extent of the bells and whistles combined with the general noise of the vibration was just a bit extra for me. One way in which I think this brush would be more preferable than a manual is in terms of whitening - it does seem to be pretty effective at that (especially in conjunction with a whitening toothpaste). It could be a more cost effective long term option for people concerned with whitening. Another cost-effective use for this brush might be for someone without dental insurance, which as we all know is insanely expensive and basically useless lol. If you can't afford regular dental care than the more clinical level of cleaning this brush provides might keep you healthier than a manual.

Pink color stains base and charging station.

I bought the Oral-B Genius 6000-8000 from my dentist office. I have brushed my gums in a too hard manner causing receding of my gums. The feature that warns you with a red light that you are brushing too hard seemed like a great feature for me. I have enjoyed using this product but lately I notice a pink color has been coming out of the toothbrush base staining the charging base as well. I use white Colgate toothpaste and clean the toothbrush after each use and dry with a towel before placing toothbrush on the charger base. I can't get rid of this pink stain and don't know what is causing it.

Toothbrush

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before getting this product I think it would have been nice to know how high tech it actually is. The Oral B toothbrush worked fine but it's defiantly not something I would use on a day to day basis. I feel that with the need to charge it the product would become to inconvenient to use daily.

Our toothbrushes go through many quality checks to ensure they provide the reliable performance our Oral-B customers know and expect. We’re sorry this is happening, and we have a few troubleshooting tips you can try. Make sure the power outlet you are using is working as it should and is turned on if it is operated by a switch. Also, make sure you are charging for the amount of time recommended in your product manual, and that you are not charging the toothbrush on a metal surface which can interfere with the charging process. If these tips don’t resolve the problem, be sure to give us a call so we can further help. Call 1-800-566-7252 from 9AM - 6PM EST Monday - Friday.

Great product!

I received this on Dec. 28, 2019. Quite an upgrade from my basic Oral-B toothbrush-quieter and with a more spinning motion.
