We cut cable several years ago and bought a Roku 2 to try. We liked it so much, we bought Roku 3s for our other TVs and have been really happy with them. Recently, we switched from HULU + to HULU Live and have had problems with it constantly refreshing, so we decided to purchase a new Roku to see if that would help--and it did! We bought the Roku Streaming Stick + and love it. The picture quality is awesome, the new remote has an on/off button and volume control for the TV, and best of all, HULU Live stopped refreshing and my husband is happy! Now, I want another one for the other TVs. :)

I like the new on-off and volume control, but the stick did not link properly with my online account for Acorn TV--and I had to work with Acorn directly to work around the issue. Biggest issue was I did not realize the device was not capable of using my highest speed (5g) and would only pick up my lower speed (2.4g) although the stand alone tv worked with the 5g.

we own 2. wanted to "cut the cord" and remove high cost dish/cable this was our first attempt...streaming hulu live...very frustrating. using high speed internet wifi, but it seems we've sacrificed quality as the internet constantly slows down, buffers, interrupting live news making it ...not so live

My new Sony TV has a 0.9ma USB 3.0 connector. However it does not provide enough power to the Streaming Stick+ predictively. It will turn on sometimes and work; other times you get a power error message. It would be nice if Roku could have tested the product more and provided a list of TV's the unit will work with. Their literature puts that up in the air and even though their advertising show pictures of the Stick connected to the USB ports, they continue to recommend using the 120V power supply adaptor. This is only a problem if you as a customer expect the device to perform as advertised. It is a great idea but fails in its real-world use.

Just hooked up and activated my new Roku® Streaming Stick®+ (model 3810). As a veteran Roku user, I can say that this new stick delivers great performance characteristics on a number of level: easy of installation and use, a noticeably faster response time, and a very handy voice activated remote that also (finally!) allows you to control volume and shut off the TV set itself. There are two things about Roku products that I can recommend: a very long usable life-span, and improved new versions when you're ready to upgrade that actually deliver better performance.

My old Roku just stopped working and I was a little upset about it. I turned it on one morning to watch the news, it worked all of 5 minutes, then went to the home screen and told Mr I had no internet connection, tried all day, connected it to another time. T.V. and it said they same thing. Getting exasperated by now, ordered the new one, when came, was easy to connect, turned on fast, no long waits to get b to channels, so much clearer, beautiful picture, etc. Love it!

OK, so the word "best" is overused. But, in this case, I have a range of Roku's from the first to the latest and this is the fastest and loads my apps with no delays. Have not found any problems. Easy link to the TV for audio and on/off. If you also have an external speaker on your TV, remember to turn it off before linking the Roku control to the TV. Otherwise, you keep thinking the control can't mute you TV because the external speaker stays on. The audio search does a great job and gives real results.

Bought this as an update to my Roku Express. First reason was for updated platform that would show a full schedule for PS Vue app. (My Express just shows current hour and next) Was actually thinking of buying a old PS3 just for the interface, then got this instead and BAM! Problem solved! I now get a full Guide, reaching out a week. Added bonus, its FAST! Loads every app quicker, responds better. Then there's the Remote.. Voice Commands; RF rather than IR, so it can be pointed at the ceiling and still work; AND has Power and Volume that directly controls your TV. (these are IR) A real NICE feature! Over-all very pleased!

I have owned several Roku devices since generation one and rarely had a problem with any of them. This one has given me more grief than it's worth. First the remote does not work all the time. Usually the stick has to be power cycled and/or batteries taken out and placed back in the remote. Customer service sent me another remote it has the same problems. I was sent an extension for the Roku stick and it didn't fix a thing. Since using that extension on the back of the TV the stick now drops connection and the WiFi has to be reset every time I turn it on. The router is within 5 feet of the TV and has a range that reaches outside. It's not the router. I have faith that my next Roku device won't have this many problems. I don't have faith that the problems will ever be corrected on this one. I was hoping to be able to use the 4K but may revert back to my previous HD stick and just put this one in the closet.

cons no port for a head set........viewing content and selection of tv and movies is too complicated. It will be a while before I'm used to formats. Pro...the review of selections in motion is great!!!!!!I originally got hooked with a bogus ROKU site and they wanted to charge 99.00 to connect. Beware..always go to ROku official site
