This is my 3rd Roku Stick and it is the best option available. I use on a smart tv and have the internet access to the smart tv turned off because the Roku is much faster than what is built in to the tv. Also the number of apps available for Roku is much better than the smart tv.

Now that I finally have the stick installed it is amazing. The installation process was very frustrating because I am over 60 and the instructions seemed easy but I had to keep redoing things and it took me days to figure it out. I found customer support - totally on line - completely unhelpful. HOWEVER - not that the dang thing is installed - I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I am sure I will forget my original frustration as I continue to enjoy my device.

I had to get a new box with my current cable system, I would have to have one for each TV and pay rental on the boxes. Instead, I purchased the Roku stick and I am not only able to hook up to my cable system, but I have tons of free movies and TV programs to watch on a number of stations. Instructions to set up were easy, big plus for me as I am technically challenged. And I keep finding channels that do not charge! I have already recommended it to all my friends.

I bought it for an extra tv that I didn't want to install shelves under to hold other devices. I have 2 roku 4's. Wish I had sticks to replace them. I really like that I can control everything on the TV with the roku remote. It has long range control that worked across the hall from the TV.

I have only had the Roku® Streaming Stick®+ (model 3810) two weeks, so I can't give a long-term, comprehensive review. I can share my limited experience though, which is positive. Initial setup was straightforward and painless. Apps for all of the streaming services associated with my Roku account were automatically installed. The ability of the Stick+ to control TV power and volume is a nice feature. I have used it on two Samsung TVs and it automatically detected and synced with each, and didn't require entering codes or fiddling around. I have two other Roku devices, an original Streaming Stick and a Roku 3. The Stick+ is a LOT faster than the original Stick. The responsiveness of the Stick+ isn't noticeably different from the Roku 3 (which is acceptable). The picture quality is good. I only have 10 mbps internet service, but I have not experienced buffering or any other performance issues. Even when another another device is streaming HD content, both streams work without a hitch. So far it appears to be more robust than a FireTV stick I had (that I gave to a daughter), which often buffered when another stream was active. Unscientific observation, but that's the way it appears to me using the “eye-test”. The bottom line is that I am happy with the Stick+. When I purchased it I actually wanted a hardwired (ethernet) device, but there were none available locally so I went with the Stick+. So far I have no regrets having done so, and I have no reservations in recommending it.

This is my second Roku--first stick...it is fabulous! So easy to install, and it also has on off and volume control which is great as I do not have to switch between remotes. I also love Roku's new channel. It is a great value for all the wonderful channels you can get. And, you can take it with you when you travel! How clever is that. I am purchasing several as gifts this season.

I am upgrading from a 2015 device. This thing is much smaller and it has no issues connecting to 5 GHz WiFi and it has no issues keeping up with FHD video streams. I haven't tried UHD streaming, but it doesn't appear that there will be any challenges. I loved how during setup it determined the TV and the volume and power immediately synchronized with the TV. That makes is really easy.

I was skeptical about the roku stick before I got it,but I'm very happy I did. It has loads of free channels as well as paid channels. There is always something cool to watch. The picture is awesome and the remote is simple and convenient. We love it.

I've only used this briefly so far, but it was definitely easy to install and setup. I also have the Roku 2 (upgraded version) and Roku 4 and love all of them. I was able to power this stick using the TV's USB port which was handy, less cables hanging :-)

The tv was on for less than 15 minutes when a message popped up that it was overheating. An hdmi extender is included with the device because I'm guessing this is a known problem. I just bought the tv yesterday. It is a popular Samsung 50" hanging on the wall from a full-motion mount. No restricted air flow. I've always had an Apple TV but I bought the Roku based on the advice from my son because he said it was cheaper than Apple and offered the same features. Except my Apple TV doesn't have the overheating feature. I'll pay more for "less" features, thank you. The Roku is going to be returned and I will get a 4K Apple TV.
