Makes great coffee, lots of features!
This system is very easy to set up, and has endless possibilities. I like the fact that you don't have to use a K-Cup since it comes with a reusable filter, which is very economical and environmentally friendly. The machine comes with easy to read instructions and walks you through the proper set up and cleaning process. We used the frother, which works great, and makes a very rich, creamy cup of coffee. The only thing I was concerned with on this is that it doesn't seem to make a small cup of coffee. Even the smallest setting fills up my travel mug 3/4 of the way. If you choose this setting with a regular coffee mug, you have to watch it closely so it doesn't overflow. However, this was probably just a glitch on my machine. Overall, I have really enjoyed the system. It's a great value. I love the fact that it can make one cup, a 1/2 carafe, of a whole carafe of coffee. It just gives you many options. I'd recommend for sure to anyone wanting a great coffee maker that can handle regular or specialty cups of coffee.
Terrible, BITTER Coffee!!!
I did my homework online for over a month before I bought this. But, thanks to retailers hiding the negative product reviews, to where you have to dig for them, I did not see all the warnings about the bitter tasting coffee. I couldnt wait to get it home to clean it and use it. I followed the instructions concerning cleaning before using, and then set in to making coffee. It was some of the WORST coffee I have ever tasted! I do NOT like bitter coffee, and that was all this machine would make. I tried 6 different brands/blends of beans/grind, and countless different amounts of grounds with different settings, and even different coffee filters (natural and bleached) in an attempt to make coffee that didnt taste bitter. Nothing worked. I dumped out more coffee in the 2 weeks that I had this pot, than I have in my entire life. I REALLY wanted this coffee maker to work, as I absolutely loved everything else about the machine! But it simply makes BITTER coffee. Even cutting back on the grounds, simply made the coffee taste like bitter, coffee flavored weal water. Adding more grounds made the coffe string and bitter. Ninja even advertises how their makers "extract" more flavor from the coffee. It extracts so much, it makes the coffee bitter. Dont take my word for it, search online for "Ninja bitter coffee" and see what you find. Even well known sites like CNET reviewed the Ninja Coffee Bar and said the coffee was bitter. I even told a friend I could tell the bitter coffee from other coffee, blindfolded. She made 2 pots of coffee, one pot in the Ninja, and one in my old coffee maker. She used the exact same amount of grounds out of the exact same bag of coffee, with the exact same filters from the exact same package, with the exact same amount of tap water (from the same softened well water Ive used for decades) and in a blind test, I knew immediately which coffee was the bitter Ninja Coffee Bar coffee. I had 3 other people try the coffee, and all 3 said it was bitter. Its a shame the coffee is terrible, as the rest of the machine is awesome. There is no other machine that offers all the options and features that this machine does. BUT, all of that means nothing, when the coffee tastes like swill.

I actually receiver 2 different machines. One came with the free tumbler and the other did not. Also the buttons are different. Has all the Same functions, but because I'm giving to two different people at the same Christmas I was really wishing they were the same. Bought another one at the local Sam's and luckily it was the same as one of them. I kept the one with the tumbler and different buttons so there would not be a difference when family opened the others. I really like the machine although I am still working on that perfect pot of coffee.
Perfect for us
I am so over the k-cups. I prefer freshly ground coffee made with the Ninja. The coffee flavor is so much better quality. I like that we have so many options for the amount, carafe, mug, cup etc. We often need different servings based on who is at the house. My husband prefers bold brew, I prefer milder. Plus it has specialty brew to do fun stuff like a pumpkin spice latte year round! It has auto settings so my husband can preset for his to brew first thing, then he resets it for me while I'm getting around. The frother is easy to use too. I like that it all breaks down easily and I can run the parts through the dishwasher. I am thrilled with the Ninja coffee bar system.
Yes!!!!
This is only after the first one cup. I messed it up. It says 2 to 3 small scoops(tsp) I did use the included spoon, compromised at 2 71/4 and then pressed the rich button. You know, because I was going to froth it. It was clean tasting ok,but more like expresso. The frother is really more fun & useful than I thought it would be. ANY how, for me in the morning I will only use 2 tsp & regular button. I think this machine is far superior to any I ever owned & I've used some of the best. I hope ya'll try it!
Great Features
I bought this two months ago and very pleased with the features and makes excellent coffee. However, the problems is the temperature is never consistent, and does not always keep coffee hot. Apparently something wrong with the hot plate? Will probably return for another.
Leaks water all over your counter
After using it for about 3 weeks I started finding water on the counter and I blamed it on over filling , moving the coffeemaker after filled, everyone and everything until i noticed the tank water lever was dropping over night. As it tuns out it's a common problem with the unit . The Ninja coffee bar Facebook page is full of unhappy purchasers. I contacted the company they blamed it on the water tank and sent another, unfortunately the new tank leaks as well the problem appears to be a poorly designed seal between the tank and the coffee maker housing. This is dangerous considering there are other electrical appliances plugged in on the counter not to mention it could destroy the counters and or cabinets below.

Delicious coffee
I bought 2, one for my college son, he says he uses it every morning before class and loves the convenience. I switched from a Keurig & love the savings of being able to use a bag or can of coffee grounds & love being able to make my own specialty coffee at home and love the frother
Must buy, but purchase in store
I bought the Ninja Coffee Bar online which is advertised as model CF090A. Model CF090A comes with a double walled plastic carafe for iced coffee. I received CF091A which does not come with the Iced Carafe. I promptly exchanged the ninja coffee bar in store for the CF090A. It Comes with a 20 recipe book, a scoop that tells you how much coffee grounds you need for each size, a reusable brass filter than will not corrode, a removable 50oz water tank, a 50oz Glass carafe for hot coffee, and a 50oz insulated plastic carafe for Iced Coffee. You can throw ice into the glass carafe and brew but it may crack by going from cold temps to hot. All Ninja coffee bars can brew 4 strengths of coffee, Classic, Rich, Over Ice, and Specialty/Café Forte. Classic is your standard coffee. Rich will be slightly darker. Over Ice will be even darker to compensate for the ice melting. Specialty is 4oz espresso-like and Café Forte is 8oz espresso-like. Darker blends are made by the brew basket having a plunger. For Darker brews the plunger in the basket will cause the coffee to backup and brew longer in the coffee grounds. The coffee can brew several sizes, Cup (12oz), XL Cup (15oz), Tumbler (19oz), Multi-Serve (24oz), Half Carafe (25oz), Full Carafe (50oz). All models have the same basic features but some have the clock, delay brew, and keep warm buttons on the bottom with a chrome trim. CF090A has those features on the bottom. Here are the extras that each model has: CF090 - Nothing extra and has a 10 recipe book instead of 20 CF090A - Ninja 10 - Cup Over Ice Carafe CF090CO - Ninja 100 Recipe Book CF091 - Nothing extra CF092/CF092W - Ninja XL Hot & Cold Tumbler
Messy coffee pot
Purchased this thru our local club. First attempt with single cup, after brewing there was significant dripping after indicating brewing was complete. Determined must place another cup under it after removing the brewed cup. Left significant sludge in bottom of cup so attempted using the #4 filters which helped the quality but intensified the dripping. First attempt at making a carafe I used a #4 filter, came back and it had overflowed the brew basket leaving grounds and water all over the carafe, large amount of grounds in the carafe, grounds all down in hot plate. Returned the unit to the store, don't consider it worth the steep price tag.
