We regularly buy meat in in large packages. I divide it into meal size portions and use my Food Saver to vacuum and seal. I have learned to really prevent the occasional air leak, just seal the bags twice at each end. This is far superior to using regular freezer bags. The meat will last for months with no freezer burn.

I have been using the FoodSaver and bags for several years. We've stopped throwing freezer burned food away and saved a great deal of money as a result. The rolls are expensive and this is always the cheapest way to purchase them. Trust me, I've checked! I cut the material long enough to reuse them several times and save money that way, too! (My sister-in-law showed me that trick.) I just hand wash the bag so I get it really clean.
