The was a slight taste of powder (like when you make a nutrient drink from a packet and not the ready made stuff). I wasn't full from drinking it but I wasn't hungry either. Meaning it was a good breakfast option if you are on the go. And I was good until lunch time.

I chilled the drink and had it this morning. Upon first taste, it’s thick. It’s tastes like the leftover milk at the bottom of a bowl of sugary cereal. Once you are passed that, you are hit with the after taste of minerals and vitamins. The sugar content is overpowering. I turned the bottle over to see 41 grams of sugar!! 15 grams of that is added sugars with 0 fiber!!! I would much rather take a vitamin in the morning to get my daily dose than drink this sugary syrup. No thank you. Not for me.

The drink itself provides 13 grams of protein with 21 vitamins and minerals. It has 3 times the vitamin d as milk and 3 times the calcium of Greek yogurt. One drink is only 220 calories. It’s a great value for the money and I recommend it. It’s great!

But it almost had like a powder texture. It's hard to describe but that's probably the only thing i really didn't like. If my kids were younger they would probably love it.

I found that the mixed berry was a perfect flavor for an early morning drink. I like that I’m starting my day off with a drink that has vitamins, minerals, and even protein! I feel good in the morning. As someone who is always on the go, the bottle fits nicely in the cup holder in my car. It’s easy to just carry in my purse or even a backpack. I look forward to trying other flavors.

I felt like I was drinking regular chocolate milk except with all of the great essentials and protein as a bonus. I will be adding this to my shopping list.

Thankfully, he is always thirsty in the morning so he will actually drink Carnation Breakfast Essentials without any problems. I like that he gets everything he needs in a good breakfast and he likes that he he can have his breakfast while he is getting ready for school in the mornings just by drinking it. The flavor is great. This is a win-win for our household.
