I've always wondered why this brand is more expensive than other brands so I did a little taste test. It actually has a bit better flavor Than a generic brand and it is rbst free. So perhaps higher quality but I don't know if it justifies the price for me. This is definitely the best price I've seen though.

Where I live, it is hard to get good milk during the ongoing pandemic. We use a grocery pickup/delivery service, but the 'shoppers' (apparently) don't pay attention to product expiration dates and/or don't keep refrigerated items cold, so regular milk that we have gotten frequently goes bad quickly, sometimes even before the marked expiration date. So we bought this evaporated milk primarily to use with instant oatmeal (I'm 83, and I remember my parents using evaporated milk of a different brand name for coffee creamer when I was a kid.) Mixed 50/50 with water, this Carnation Evaporated Milk makes our oatmeal even better than with regular milk.

I have been using Carnation Evaporated Milk for as long as I can remember. It is a staple item in my household. Ever run out of milk? just add equal parts water to carnation milk as a substitute when making things that require milk, such as pancakes. Also use when making mac and cheese and mashed potatoes, makes them extra rich and creamy.

I love the convenience of these. We rarely use milk, so buying a gallon or quart goes to waste. We use the cans when we need them, and they last for a good amount of time. We keep them on hand, so we don't have to run to the store every time we need milk.

I like to keep these in my pantry when I run out of fresh milk. Very handy.
