honestly, why doesn't everyone have cans of milk in their cupboard?  Canned milk is the most versatile food in your kitchen. Canned milk is especially goodie casseroles. Make your own Mac n Cheese. Just make a white sauce, use canned milk, a tablespoon of mustard, and the noodles.  Freeze with Saran Wrap pressed down on top, then wrap the whole In foil and freeze.  I use it for egg casseroles too. Canned milk does not separate like fresh milk does.

I am in my 60's. My Mom has used Carnation for coffee, for cereal (when whole milk ran out) when out of baby & breast milk, AND to nurse a litter of puppies abandoned before weaning in the early 1960's. She is the first person I've ever seen turn a prophylactic glove into a multi-bottle for a litter. Is there anything Carnation cannot nourish?

We live out in the country so canned milk is a must have. And this is a trusted brand.

Great to have on hand.

Can be used anytime a recipe calls for milk. No sugar means recipes taste so much better. Also, can be reconstituted to regular milk by adding water 1/1.

Good for cooking

I always keep evaporated milk on hand for cooking.  Also, a trick my mother taught me is that adding a little water to dilute it and you end up with regular milk that will work on cereal in a pinch.

Great product.

The product is great! The way these are packaged and shipped is problematic however! There almost no way to get these without finding at least a few dented cans in the pack! And who wants dented cans?!

Milk

I bought this and then bought some great value at walmart to see if using them if there is any difference with the taste for the holidays. There was no difference in the taste. You can buy the cheaper one if you want to save money.

Is it the best one ?

I like to have evaporated milk on the shelf for various recipes, especially when there isn't any milk in the fridge, so I ordered from Sam's. To my dismay, there were three severely dented cans (of eight cans). The box the shipment was in had absolutely no evidence of damage, so I concluded that the cans may have been damaged prior to going into the box. All of this necessitated a trip to Sam's Club to resolve the matter. While the service desk associate was friendly and helpful, turning back my eight cans for credit meant there would be no evaporated milk on the shelf at home. She checked and learned there were two units in inventory at that store and told us that there might not be any; we immediately went to that area of the store to discover there was none. I am reluctant to order this again, especially since the undamaged outer carton makes me feel the cans were already damaged before shipping.
