I used as directed in the enclosed instruction sheet and took the night before. However, it made me very drowsy and groggy at work, like taking a diphenhydramine antihistamine would. I have tried other OTC products that also made me drowsy as well. It's back to loratadine antihistamines for me.

Xyzal was a little helpful, better than nothing. But, my biggest issue from suffering with allergies is congestion. And it didn't do a lot to help out with that. I generally have to get something like Claritin-D or Allegra-D with the decongestant to really feel much relief.

One thing I have noticed for myself is that once the medicine wears off I feel worse than I did before I took it and it makes me hesitant to want to continue using it.
