Hi, received my Serta 4' pillow-top and Memory Foam Mattress Topper. My purchase came on time, it was easy to open and place on my bed to air out. The smell was overpowering, had to air out a few days, never knew my nose was so sensitive, my family members really didn't notice the smell. After a week I was able to sleep on my topper and it was fantastic!! I have had the best sleep ever, my back used to hurt and my sciatica bothered me. I'm not saying that I am not in pain any longer, just that I can now tolerate it enough to sleep through the night. It is very comfortable and feel very spoiled now. I gave my rating as a 4, would have been a five except for the smell. Very happy in Lafayette IN

It's ok....I thought it would be all one piece...foam inside topper, but, it is 2 pieces. The foam is very thick and 'heavy'. It was too much for me as I sink in and sleep hot. So, I put it on a guest bed and just used the topper layer with a thinner egg crate foam on my bed. If you really like memory foam, you may like this one. I should have know better for me.

We have a 25 year old mattress and thought we'd try this topper prior to purchasing an expensive mattress. My husband always would turn throughout the night and say ow ow ow but no more. I had pain in my hips but no more. This is the best money I've spent in a very long time, maybe ever. I bought one for my daughter, my son and my mother and they all love it.

UNPACKING AND SETUP: It came in an easy-to-open box, the 3" foam rolled and tightly bound and the 1" padding packed underneath it. Instructions and warranty were enclosed. I laid the foam on top of the mattress and, with scissors, carefully cut away the outside plastic which covered the foam roll. The mattress unrolled naturally, I removed the protective sheet that was rolled with the foam, and within minutes the foam had expanded to the full 76x80 King size. ODOR: There was a slight, not unpleasant, odor at first. We let it air out for a few hours before putting it on the mattress. We had been concerned that we may not be able to sleep on it for a while, but that was not a problem. By mid afternoon the odor had subsided to the point that it was barely noticeable, and we put the pad on, tucked the skirt around the mattress, and made the bed. COMFORT AND SUPPORT: Very comfortable. We are sleeeping very well with this pad. Support is outstanding when lying on the back, and excellent when on one's side. My wife and I both have back issues - these did not go away just because we got a new topper, but we did sleep well and woke up with little pain. HEAT: Some toppers have garnered a lot of complaints because they got too hot at night. We did not feel any of this at all. Non-issue. QUALITY: Can't judge long-term quality yet, but it came flawless and seems to be well made. And yes, the pad is machine washable - instructions are on the pad tag. No regrets!

I purchased this topper because the mattress I had was causing me to wake every morning with a backache. I decided to go for the 4 inch version to ensure I had the most comfort (even though the 3 inch was on sale.) After the first night of sleep, I woke up without pain. I've slept on this topper for about three weeks and so far, I have no complaints. It really does make the bed more comfortable. Now, a few other things you might want to know. The topper arrived in a cardboard box but it was only wrapped in plastic - the plastic was not completely sealed though which I found odd. The topper did have a bright yellow color on part of it (which some other folks have said looked like urine.) I am not sure why the color is only partly there but having the topper not completely sealed in the plastic bag made me wonder. There is a slight smell once it is opened up, but it dissipated pretty quickly. These things weren't issues for me, but if you tend to be particular, you might want to consider passing on this item. I just wanted a comfortable mattress topper and this fit the bill. (Mine also came with a zippered cover as well.)

Bought it 2 weeks ago! Was waking up with stiff joints and back ache. Decided to buy a new mattress. Went on line, saw this for way less money and figured i would try it first. It arrived, opened it and put it on our mattress. It did have a chemically smell as stated in other reviews. Wasn't really surprised by it though, it's a giant chunk of foam! First night till now, sleeping like a baby! No joint pain! No back aches! Truly happy! Smell has dissipated over time, but it was never really terrible! Love it! Recommend it! Would buy it again!

"Serta 4" Pillow-Top and Memory Foam Mattress Topper" -- The mattress only came with a pillow top w an attached mattress cover with no foam. i waited a few days for the pillow top/foam to expand, but did not expand. returned the item.. so disappointed, plus the box was in terrible shape and took a long time to arrive.

I was somewhat disappointed in the pillow top part of this topper. Very thin and doesn’t add any softness at all. If you’re looking for a softer sleep this probably isn’t the right choice. I ended up having to buy a 4” pillow top to add on top of this. It’s not a bad product but just is too firm for us.

I bought this topper in hopes that it would relieve the back discomfort that my Mom had been experiencing every morning while trying to get out of bed for about 5 days. I had to assist her in getting out of bed her pain was so bad. After just one night, the back pain was gone and Mom was able to get out of bed on her own again! Alleluia!

We bought this online and picked it up in the club the next day. My daughter put it on her bed immediately and slept on it that night (she didn't care that it wouldn't be fully expanded for a couple of days). She said it made her bed much more comfortable (she's not ready to replace the old mattress yet) and that she has slept well on it every night. It came with a nice pillow-top mattress cover.
