I have teenagers who just flip thru channels and don't even bother to really watch the TV so they waste batteries. I also have a husband who changes out the batteries way to long. With some of our remotes that tend to quickly use up batteries, we usually have to switch out batteries pretty often and haven't had to do that with these. These are a must have! I prefer to use quality name brand batteries in my items at home. I have used cheaper ones in the past, but they are not durable and will tend to rust quickly ruining your device. Instead, spend the extra money and buy the best! Energizer are really fantastic and I have not had issues with batteries leaking or rusting.

We have a rule in our house when daylight savings happens we change all the batteries in the remotes and smoke alarms. We use lithium in any electronics we can around the house. They will make your lights brighter and run longer, and you'll forget your tv remote even takes batteries. My roku remote is super hard on batteries. Standard batteries only seem to last a couple of months in it... but these... I have had the same set of energizer lithiums in it for almost two years now and it is still going strong!
