I have used this brand platters for at least 5 years and the last two orders show a difference. The platters are not as heavy, sturdy or leak proof as in previous years. There has been a change. We now have to use two plates, which means you are paying more.

These were not good at all. I bought them for a get together and the plates were bubbled up and the food leaked through the plates. Even with two plates together. The quality was not what Chinet has been in the past. Will not purchase again.

These Chinet platters used to have a coating on them that made them less absorbent. Now they are porous and have to be doubled for every use to prevent food soaking through.

Any small amount of liquid will leak through. You have to double up on the plates to keep from making a mess. If your having hamburgers, hot dogs and potato chips you're fine. Good ole fashion BBQ and brunswick stew, you'll be wearing that home on your clothes.
