I called the Downy number and asked why this product was changed from lavender and vanilla to just lavender and they kept insisting that the product was not changed. I WAS a faithful user of Downy for years, but when I was told an out and out lie, I will no longer use this product. I am now in the process of looking at other products that have this lavender and vanilla scent. Even if I cannot find one, I will not go back to Downy ever again.

Since the original scent of April Fresh Downey has changed ,this has been my new favorite!! I use it along side Tide with Bleach Powder and my laundry smells, feels and looks great!! I hope this product stays on the market just the way it is or I will have to find another product and I hate when you find something that you love and it gets changed or discontinued.

I would have bought this product if it was simply your other fragrance in a new package, but this doesn't have the same scent at all. The previous Lavender Vanilla was also kind to my allergies and sensitive skin. I don't want to risk a new fragrance formula. I am Very Disappointed, especially since you have had other scents for much longer.

I too, like everyone else here it appears, prefer the original. I can't even begin to tell you how much better it was. When you changed the scent, I smelled the new one in the store, & did not (have not & will not) purchase it. In addition to the fabric softener, I also purchased the L&V tide & febreze which are also P&G pdts. They too were discontinued... BUT, TODAY I was in the store, & saw the ORIGINAL L&V FEBREZE for sale again.... I bought 4 cans of it. I'm hoping the return of the detergent & softener follow closely behind!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Why did you change the freshest smelling Downy ever made? This new scent is just awful. Please reconsider the old formula, and fire whoever made this very bad decision. I have been a Tide and Downy faithful user for 35 years and am now trying new products. I will keep looking for my favorite to reappear on the supermarket shelf. Please don't keep disappointing so many loyal users of your products.

I'm yet ANOTHER person disappointed in the change to a new scent. PLEASE bring back the old Lavender Vanilla! I didn't know it had been discontinued. I grabbed what I thought was my standby FAVORITE fabric softener ever, and went on my way. I went to put some in my rinse and immediately knew something was very wrong. I deal with fragrances for a living (I handmake candles, toiletries and home fragrancing items.) and have a very sensitive nose. I also know how to make my own scented fabric softener. I didn't though, because I loved the old Lavender Vanilla scent so much! I found a fragrance I can use that is a near duplicate of your old scent, and am now making my own. But if the old LV is brought back, I will stop and buy it again!! Begging you all, please! This scent does not make me "feel more serene."

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't used Downy in forever, let alone fabric softener, but let me tell you that this smells absolutely amazing and leaves your clothes smelling so wonderful. For such a small amount added to a heavy load of clothes and the whole entire load coming out smelling like lavender and fresh was amazing to me. The clothes dried softly and made them feel very comforting. I stopped awhile back using fabric softeners because I was not sure it was doing their job. However Downy definitely hit the nail on the head with this product.

I too want the old vanilla lavender back!!!!!!!! It was so much better! I miss it. I have one left that I was able to find and I'm streching it's use but it's almost gone. I've searched but can't find any more. It's so sad. The new one just can't compare to the scent of the old one!

This is not my absolute favorite fabric softener but it still smells amazing! The Calm line of beads and dryer sheets really do work well in making my laundry smell so dreamy. Also, I am still a sucker for vanilla and lavender scents! It helps me sleep like a baby at night and keeps my mood calmer when I smell it.
