Does exactly what it says it will

I've been loving this detergent for a while now. I have sensitive skin and really appreciate that I don't have to worry about dyes and fragrance irritating my skin. Every once in a while I'll add a dash of scented detergent in with this to give my laundry a little boost, that way I can use far less of the fragranced stuff than I normally would.

Cleans well no scent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleans very well as all tide products do this one however leaves no scent and no issues with anyone allergic to a fragrance. I personally like a more fresh scent after washing laundry but my son said he didn't feel like his clothes made him itchy like our other brand so I will be using this more often.

I have always used Tide

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the brand Tide for years, and it's the only thing my father buys too. It works well at cleaning my clothes and making them smell nice without being overpowering. This free and gentle brand works just as good, but I can't fully say it's made a huge difference than the regular brand . It's a great laundry detergent that's affordable though and I like how it's gentle and meant for those with sensitive skin

Change in odor and color

I have been using Tide Free and Clear for decades. Over the past 6 months I've noticed an unpleasant peanut butter type odor and the color is yellow and it seems thicker. It still seems to wash OK, but the odor is very off-putting and I will probably switch brands.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Dr. Barb. Our products are put through many quality checks to ensure they arrive to you in the perfect condition. There has been no recent changes to our Tide Free & Gentle, and would not expect for it to have a peanut butter scent or to be more yellow. This may be a result of it being exposed to direct sunlight, and we recommend tossing it, and replacing it with a new one. We also recommend storing your detergent in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. We'd like to learn more to see how we can help best. When you can please give us a call at (800) 879-8433. -The Tide Team

Toddler had severe allergic reaction

I've used a variety of free and clear detergent brands, decided to try tides version and my toddler had a severe allergic reaction all over her body and face. I see many people reviewing with allergic reactions so clearly this detergent is Not gentle!!

We're so sorry to hear about what happened to your daughter, and we hope she feels better soon. Safety is at the forefront of what we do, especially when it comes to our Free & Gentle Detergent. We only use ingredients that have been tested to be safe, and it doesn't contain any dyes or perfumes, so this isn't what we expect. However, it may be possible she doesn't tolerate this specific version, so while we're sure you did this already, we suggest you discontinue using it. This isn't something we take lightly, and we'd like to hear from you about this and hear how your daughter is feeling. Please call us at (800) 879-8433.

Suds in Laundry

Since the formulation change, I often see suds in my machine after I wash. I have sensitive skin, so I always do my washing with an extra sinse. Even with that there will always be a few suds in the rim and more than half the time it will be enough that I need to do a second rinse. I've been using this product for years and never had this issue before. I have been using far less detergent than before never more than the first notch. The suds issue is worse on smaller loads. It's difficult to guage how much detergent to put in when it's such a small ammount and the measuring cap is so large. Isn't HE detergent suposed to be formulated not to sud?

We appreciate your loyalty, and thanks for reaching out. Tide has been improved to provide a better clean with the formula change that you mentioned. This technology may reduce some visible suds during the wash cycle while still providing a great clean. We hope this helps explain things, and we'll be sure to share your thoughts.

Ingredients not match SmartLabel webpage

The ingredients on the bottle do not match the ingredients online at the SmartLabel webpage. Notably, the bottle does Not contain Borax (Sodium Borate) and the bottle does contain the addition of sodium lauryl sulfate. I feel as though these are important ingredients that should be correctly listed. There are a few other ingredients that do not match up as well. Overall I'm disappointed with the cleaning power of this detergent. My kids are hard on their clothes. Food and dirt stains abound. This detergent very rarely gets all of the food stains out of my kids clothes.

It's disappointing to hear this because Tide is designed to provide exceptional cleaning and whitening. Some tips to get the best results with your Tide detergent are: be sure to not overload the washer, and to use the recommended amount of detergent for average water hardness, a little more in very hard water, a little less in very soft water. Also sort clothes by color and fabrics so that you can use the hottest water that is safe for the fabrics, and use the correct was cycle for the types of fabrics you are washing together. If you notice stains before washing, try pre-treating them.

You don't need a lot of product to make it work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This detergent surprised me. I did not need to use a lot of it and it cleaned my clothes perfectly. It smells really good and the packaging looks cute. Also, clothes get super soft which is great for my skin.

Great for sensitive skin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone with sensitive skin, using hypoallergenic products is crucial for me. This detergent, a longtime favorite, is dye-free and scent-free. It's not only effective, but the new safety cap design impressed me—it allows excess detergent to drain back into the bottle without any spills. It cleanes clothes really well and leaves them soft and smelling fresh. Highly recommended!

Tides the best

Great product to use in home with many pet and family members who suffer from allergies. We use this everyday use especially for blankets anything my furry friends lay on. No skin rashes since using. I use regular tide detergent for everything else. I don't have allergies so I love the smell.
