We'd like to mention that it's possible that cleaning ingredients from the dish soap can become trapped in a dishcloth or sponge. Over time, these ingredients can break down and cause a malodor. For best results, follow these tips: -Make sure the dish water is hot enough when washing the dishes (115*F or 47*C). -Don't allow the washcloth or sponge to soak in the water. -Thoroughly rinse the cloth or sponge after each use and allow it to dry. -Launder your dishcloth in the hottest water safe for the fabric, and bleach, if safe for the fabric. Sponges can be washed in hot, soapy water or can be washed in the top rack of the dishwasher. As well, we wouldn't expect Dawn to impart the of the product taste into dishes. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous and should be washed by hand. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors.
