We wouldn't expect it to impart the taste of the product into food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. We'd recommend giving our Dawn E-Z Squeeze Free & Clear Fragrance-Free a try, as it has all of the cleaning power of Dawn with no added scent.
