No more Dawn for us ...
...the new scent is ghastly strong and smells like a very cheap perfume .. burning my nose and throat and the aweful smell lingers on my hands for hours after doing dishes. I can't/won't use this because it is so nauseating. disappointed that you changed it. I'll be looking for a different dishwashing liquid after years of using Dawn.

Don’t wash the TV duck in the new stuff!!!!
The Refreshing Rain Scent is so toxic that I’m afraid to use it around my daughter with asthma. It’s not just a smell, it’s a chemical reaction. I had to open up the windows & doors & air the house out when I used it to steam mop my floors. It’s like vinegar mixed with epoxy and formaldehyde. I’m heartbroken that Dawn changed the formula. I’ve used Dawn to clean everything for 20 years because I trusted it as a safe cleaner. Now I have to find 10 different products because I can’t use this one anywhere in my house any more. Don’t wash the tv commercial duck in this stuff!!!!!

NEW SCENT IS DEPLORABLE
Dawn, what have you done???? I'm a professional house cleaner and have been using your dish soap for YEARS. I loved the original platinum scent. Why? Just why did you mess with it. I have a really strong nose but I'm not normally affected by scents (I usually love cleaning supplies) but this is almost unbearable. I hate that I have to switch because I love the way your product works. But I refuse to use this in clients homes.

Lost a lifelong customer
I have bought Dawn exclusively for the last ten+ years. I have never used any other dish soap and have recommended all my friends and family to use it. The new formula is absolutely horrible. My dishes no longer get clean, the soap is slimy and the scent is HORRIBLE. You have lost a lifelong customer. I’m so disappointed.

Absolutely hate the new scent
We loved Dawn soap. It’s our favorite brand of dish soap. We compromise on other household products to make it cost effective , but when it comes to dish soap we never compromise and always buy Dawn. It’s been our favorite dish soap since forever but last week we bought the new Dawn platinum Fresh Rain scente and we absolutely dislike it. The smell is horrendous. It smells like something is rotting in the sink or old rotting egg sitting on a plate. It smells very disgusting. Which P&G person was incharge of this? What the heck you were thinking? Please make changes, bring back the original scent. The mild refreshing one.

Worried About New Scent Around Birds
The product does what it is supposed to do. It cleans my dishes well, even when they are greasy. However, after years of using it, I'm going to have to switch brands now that the blue has been replaced by this new scent. I tried using it today and now I am itchy all over. I'm allergic to a lot of strong scents and that was one of the reasons I loved Dawn initially. It had a scent, but not one that set off my hives. Now I can't touch the stuff. I'd also be very concerned about this being used on wildlife in the event of oil spills. There are a lot of scents that you are not supposed to use around birds and this smell seems very similar to a lot of the heavier stuff you are supposed to keep away from them. Their respiratory systems don't deal with it well. It would be really sad for people to being using this stuff to help wildlife, only to have some of the birds dying from respiratory distress caused by the new scent. I'd have given a second star for Dawn's ability to clean regardless of my allergies, but when something is advertised as good for helping wildlife with a cute little duck on the front, I'd have hoped they wouldn't go messing with something that is known to be bad for birds.

We do recommend that you discontinue use of this particular product if this has been your experience, and we suggest giving another Dawn version a try. For a lighter scent, you may want to check out our Dawn Free & Gentle. As well, we'd like to mention that our Dawn products, including its perfumes, are extensively evaluated for safety and are safe for use as directed. This includes the use of Dawn for emergency first-aid intervention by trained professionals in accidental exposures of animals – including accidental oil contamination of marine wildlife. Dawn is a very effective agent for removal of oil contamination from fur/feathers, and this emergency intervention by trained personnel is a well-recognized and beneficial medical intervention. Not the product it used to be
I have been buying Dawn for many years and have been satisfied with its performances. Not anymore sadly. It now longer lifts off grease or dried food.I find myself using more product and that doesn’t help either. I am doing all the work by having to having to remove it with a scrubber. I have seen your past responses to other unhappy customers in which you imply we simply don’t know how to wash dishes. That is not the way to keep customers. is not sudsy

Unsatisfactory!
Very displeased with this new Dawn, not only did the scent change but the whole formula. It doesn't clean the same and it doesn't clean well. The new "Original Dawn" which is no longer "original" doesn't cleanse or rinse off well at all. Leaves a residue on dishes and you can taste the soap even after several rinses.

Our products go through stringent quality controls to ensure each meets our high standards. For the best results usingDawn dish soap, add about 2 tablespoons of dish soap to the sink, then add water that’s 105-115°F. You should wash promptly and rinse thoroughly, as our soap is not intended as a long term soaking solution. We wouldn't expect Dawn to impart a taste into food, however, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, this can occur. New Scent Reeks!
I’ve been buying regular dawn for years and the new scent just reeks! I thought my bottle was expired! It’s thick and slimy too, it doesn’t make me feel that my dishes are clean. It leaves quite the residue and an aftertaste on my food! I want the original scents back!

New scent is disgusting
Dawn new scent is terrible! The scent is an assault to my senses. I can taste it in my food when using pans and utensils washed with the new scent soap even when thoroughly rinsing with hot water. I will be switching products. Bring the original scent back and have the new scent as an option. Ick! I wouldn’t be washing wildlife with that scented soap. Why did you have to change a good product. Whoever came up with this idea of the scent change should be fired.
