For heavily soiled dishes, we suggest letting the suds sit for 3-4 minutes before wiping and rinsing. We're sorry you're experiencing coughing while using the product. Please know that every ingredient, as well as the complete formula, is fully evaluated against the highest safety standard using the latest scientific approach for consumer safety. Although this is not a health concern, some consumers may experience a temporary tickle in their nose or throat when spraying Dawn Dish Spray. To avoid this occurring, use the product in a well-ventilated area and spray the product away from your face. It may also help to hold dishes at arm’s length to increase the distance between the spray and the nose and mouth. If you feel discomfort with the scent of the product, we recommend ventilating the room while using the product and/or discontinuing use.
