Well, I'd give this product 5 stars if they kept on making the old scented detergent that was my all time favorite. The new stuff isn't all that bad, at least I'd certainly buy it over the liquid kind which for certain I'd never buy again.

Please give us an option to buy the old scent! I've tried to get used to it, I only use Tide it's the best, but I just can't stand the new smell. And I REALLY miss the old one. I use free and clear now but I'd rather the real original. This is like "New Coke," I'm sure some people like it but others would like the old option back! Again, excellent at cleaning clothes but I can't stand the new smell.

Yeh let's face it, Tide is the best quality laundry detergent out there. Ten out of ten for cleaning. Smells really pleasant out of the box and while washing. Sadly the only fragrance note leftover on clothes is a strange woodsy note. Tweak the fragrance and tone down that particular fragrance ingredient (or eliminate it), and the scent will be 10/10 as well.

The real “original Tide” in powder form is the only detergent I'm not allergic to. All liquid laundry soaps give me a rash and I haven't been able to figure out exactly what ingredient or ingredients cause my horrible reaction. Any box with the OXY label, even in powder form, gives me a violent reaction. I will acknowledge OXY cleans well, but not worth the all over rash. It seems the company keeps trying to “improve” TIDE but I like the TIDE of 25 years ago and wish they'd go back to that.

To my disappointment, I discovered that the “original scent” has been changed—possibly back in 2020? Unfortunately, the new scent is so noxious and overpowering that I couldn't even keep the bottle. I found it so off-putting that I didn't feel right giving it away. The once-beloved fragrance that evoked warm memories is now gone, replaced by something entirely different. It's heartbreaking to think that such an iconic, well-loved scent has been altered after decades of success. Please, Tide, I implore you—bring back the true original scent! The familiar smell was more than just laundry detergent; it was a connection to the past, to family, and to home. Why fix something that wasn't broken? Don't mess with our laundry scents!

Second generation of Tide consumer here. I am agreeing with the sentiment of all of the consumers who are aware that the new scent of Tide is not the same. I recall noticing the change back in the 90's. When Spring Mountain was being announced, it was marketed as the alternative to the“original scent.” Not even close! I am nostalgic about the “Real” Original, too. I'm concerned with the allergic reactions people have been commenting on. The replies from Tide representatives are generic and have been falling on deaf ears for years. PLEASE consider your customers opinions.

WHY WHY WHY? did you change Original Scent, Tide, HE Powder? You had a perfect product and you ruined it! What gives with the blue specs? It looks just like Tide with Bleach Powder and the new scent is too strong! Tide has been a household staple in many homes in the US since 1946 and has always been white! I will NOT be buy again!

I do not like the new scent. I like trying other new Tide scents and then decided to go back to Original (trusted). Very surprised by new scent. After wearing my clothes, I knew my load needed to be rewashed. The smell is awful. I know something is off when my husband asks, “what's that smell?”

The fact that Tide (P&G) updated the scent in this product is enough to be troubling all by itself! But adding insult to injury by not communicating this with your consumers is just poor business! The fact that the box still says "ORIGINAL SCENT" when it's not is VERY misleading. I called Tide (P&G) today and requested a refund for this product. I would have brought it back to the store, but I already emptied it into the plastic detergent bin we keep in the laundry room and tossed the box. They are issuing a prepaid Visa card in the full amount. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that they are promoting this product as the "original scent" when it's not. I encourage everyone else who is not happy with this scent change to call in (1-800-879-8433) and get a refund, too!

Tried and true, original clean
