While the taste hasn’t really changed over the years, I personally prefer a chunkier, more flavorful sauce. The Traditional Ragu feels a bit too bland and flat on its own, and I found myself needing to add extra ingredients like sausage and seasoning to bring it to life. Straight from the jar, it doesn’t quite deliver the richness I look for in a pasta sauce. I probably wouldn’t purchase the Traditional variety again, but I’d be interested in trying some of Ragu’s chunkier or heartier options to see if they better match my taste. You can use it for so many things (spaghetti, chicken parmesan, etc.). I do prefer the garlic version over this one because I love garlic. I do add some to this sauce because it's a little plain to me.

I've honestly not been a real fan of Ragu over the years as it's always come across as a sweeter sauce. This one still has the hint of sweetness but, the savory took the cake. I'll definitely be purchasing this to combine with my homemade sauce in the future.

My husband liked that it was not chunky, I like some vegetable chunks in my sauce though, so that is the only downside for me. The taste was worth no chunks though. It has a very classic, subtle Italian taste to it. The addition of olive oil to the sauce really brought me back to my nonna’s cooking.

It’s definitely on the sweeter end in comparison to other sauces I typically buy. For this review, I tried the sauce on its own with some pasta but I intend to doctor it up for the other half of the jar. I like my sauces to have more garlic and spice personally. Overall, I do enjoy the sauce and if you like traditional sauces I’d give it a try.

Otherwise, it was a smooth sauce to make our fave ziti dish. Other than the slight bitterness, it did taste fresh compared to other store-bought sauces we have tried. I do recommend to use it in a pinch but definitely make it your own with extra seasonings and additions.
