I could see using this for many different dishes- from spaghetti to chicken Parmesan and it would work great. The smooth texture made it easy to work with for picky kids and the glass jar didn’t take up much space in my pantry while waiting for the night we had pasta on the menu. Definitely will purchase again

We made meatball subs with this today and the flavor really soaked into the meatballs in the crockpot. We have half a jar left and will try it with pasta next time. This is a nice all around versatile sauce!

However, if you are someone who likes a lot of flavor in your pasta sauce, this is not the sauce for you. I am used to homemade pasta sauce and this simply lacks the qualities of a good pasta sauce.

I prefer Rao’s marinara because I like slightly thicker sauces with some chunky tomato pieces and the taste of olive oil in a red sauce. My husband likes a smoother red sauce and something that tastes more like what he grew up with so we overall gave it a 4/5. The texture is smooth and uniform. It has a rich tomato paste flavor, and coats pasta well. It is a bit on the sweeter side because of the little added sugar— I could see this being a plus when making Filipino style spaghetti. It is my husband’s preference for dipping because of the texture and uniformity (i.e. mozzarella sticks) and I can agree with him on that point. The seasoning is good, you can taste onion and garlic. I think if they subbed the soybean oil for olive oil, it would match my preferences more and have a better mouthfeel but overall we liked it. It is a versatile sauce, and comes at an especially good price.
