Ok, so I came to the website to see if they sold the Ultra Strength in a different scent. Like others, I really, REALLY don't like how it smells. I was using the Free & Clean in "lavendar & eucalyptus" scent, which was heavenly, but can't find it in any stores in that scent anymore. Anyhow, I used this and was very impressed by how squeaky clean it gets my dishes, so was baffled with the other reviews that say it doesn't clean. I have a split sink and fill half with soapy water to soak and clean my dishes. I never just use a sponge and soap. Maybe that's the difference--doing it that way dilutes the smell and gives the detergent some time to work on dirty dishes when you submerge them in soapy water for a few minutes. Anyhow, my wish would be for the company to make the Ultra Strength in the lavender & eucalyptus scent. That would be awesome! Maybe the yucky smell of the Ultra Strength has something to do with the cleaning agent used. I'm guessing it might have a strong unpleasant smell and this is the best the company can do to cover it up with perfume. Long story short: I think it works so well that I'll tolerate the smell until I can find something else that does the job with a better scent because in this instance, function is more important than form.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually use Dawn dish washing soap but was excited to try this new Palmolive Ultra Strength Liquid. It doesn’t cut through the grease very well but does rinse off easily. I like my soaps to have more of a scent to them though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Palmolive is pretty comparable to other top brands of dish detergents. It produces the suds that I want and cuts the grease. I tried it initially on bacon grease, and it stood up to the test. I love the fact that the bottle is 100% recycled plastic and that the detergent is 100% biodegradable. I hope that means it’s better on my drain pipes. Probably the only drawback is that it seems to squirt out quickly, and my husband is pretty heavy handed with squeezing the detergent into the sink.

I bought Palmolive "original" for the first time in a while expecting that classic palmolive smell and was seriously disappointed by the new strong perfumy scent! It's so overwhelming that it actually makes me nauseous while I'm washing dished which is extra awful at the moment since our dishwasher is broken and I'm doing all hand dishes. The worst part is I had to soak my silicone baking mat after an ill fated hard candy making experiment and it seems to have absorbed the scent of the Palmolive, a fact I didn't know until making some potatoes tonight that wound up tasting of Palmolive... Sorry Palmolive, I usually like your products, but until this issue is fixed I won't be buying any more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Palmolive it always cleans the best. Now with Palmolive Ultra Strength cuts thru everything. Has a-lot of suds and clean grease completely. Plus with Palmolive you do not need to use that much to clean. Highly recommended!!!

It works on grease. So there is that. Unfortunately it smells so god awful that it takes over my nose. It kind of burns in the sinuses and I can't smell anything else. It's not pleasant... Like cheap plastic leather sprayed with bug killer. It would be fine except for that smell.

I normally reach for a store brand, so trying this was a real treat. I don't have to use a lot of product, I love the smell, and it just all around gets the job done. I will definitely recommend and probably repurchase

I purchased a bottle as well as a replacement jug of soap. This was the newly 200% degreaser. I am truly disappointed with this new product. The first time I used it the new smell was overwhelmingly chemical and it dried out and burnt my skin. It hasn’t recovered since yesterday. This new formula is far too caustic for every day household use. I for one will no longer be purchasing this product from Palmolive for this reason. I also find it hugely inconvenient to use the product in a household as it’s so caustic you need to to wear gouges every time you wash a dish which is highly inconvenient. I liked the previous formula. It really cleaned my kitchen well, wasn’t hard on my hands and I could wash a quick dish. Not the case with the new formula. It stinks! Whoever came up and approved it didn’t really understand his folks do dishes. Not all of us use dishwashers. As a matter of fact many don’t. My family has used Palmolive products for over 60 years and I will have to hunt for a different product. Shame on this company.

Long time Palmolive user here. Cut to the chase; Palmolive cleans as well as many other dishwashing soaps on the market. The thing that has set it apart is the original scent. That scent is what has kept Palmolive selling for all these years. You need to bring back the original scent before you lose too many long time customers. It is not really Palmolive unless it smells like Palmolive.
