I have dry Macular Degeneration (MD) and my eye doctor wanted me to begin using Areds 2 every day, twice a day. It has been several years since I started taking this supplement and the MD is still dry and not getting any worse. If you are diagnosed with MD start right away. As someone who has had vision problems all of my life, I'm grateful that this product is working in my favor. I don't know if this product can be used as a preventative or only if there is a diagnosed medical problem. I would not take any medication before discussing it with a doctor you have confidence in.
