I really wanted to try this product because I don't like the alcohol burn of other listerine products. I would say this mouthwash hurts worse than the others. My mouth goes numb for about a minute afterwards and the insides of my cheeks and gums peeled!!! I thought it would stop after I got used to it but I've been using this product for over a month now and it still burns, my mouth goes numb, and the peeling is just as bad as the first time I used it. Do not buy this product.

I've been looking for a good mouthwash and I was excited to try it, but when I did, it made my mouth completely numb and it completely dried it out! I can't drink enough water and my skin on the inside of my mouth feels horribly dry. Really bummed because the product sounded great.

I have been using Listerine for awhile but I purchased the Total Listerine and it burned my gums so badly. Just feels weird, left my gums with a white coating and kinda , just weird. I almost want to say its numb but I can still feel and taste. Just weird I dont know what's going on.

I’ve been using Listerine dental mouth wash for years and I have stuck behind it faithfully. You may ask “Why would you use that? It burns the heck out of my mouth!” Okay this is true yet the pain is worth all the benefits this brand of mouthwash has to offer. I also like that it has an alcohol-free option now which doesn’t burn as much. I’m really disappointed the Total Care Stain Remover mouthwash has been discontinued. I used it for years. Not only was that wash discontinued but all Listerine whitening rinses/washes have been discontinued. Regular mouthwash, regardless of claims, do not whiten teeth. I started with the original Listerine whitening rinse. Which was great, but I still had to use a regular mouthwash in addition to it. Then when the Total Care Stain Remover came out I switched because it literally covered everything I wanted. The Total Care Stain Remover was unique because it was a mouthwash, and whitening rinse in one. It truly was the most perfect mouthwash ever created. It had all the great original Listerine ingredients, plus peroxide, plus fluoride, and I just can’t believe it’s gone. I’m deeply saddened by this.

All of the listerine whitening rinses have a weird foaming-in-the-mouth thing going on. That is tolerable, and they don't leave your tongue blue, or whatever other color/flavor you are using. The problem is with the "Fresh Mint" flavor. It is terrible. Honestly thought it might have been contaminated, due to the putrid taste.

I've been using Listerine Total Care for about 2 weeks now. However, I noticed my skin from the inside of my cheeks was peeling off. I discontinued use of Listerine and the problem went away next day. I used my normal toothpaste for the next week with no abnormalities. I stopped brushing my teeth for 1 day and used Listerine Total Care - sloughing resumed. I spoke with my dentist who's advised me that SLS in this product causes oral cancer and to stop the use of Listerine at once.

I hate the dentist. My cleanings while regular were difficult and I produced lots of plaque. In discussion with my dentist, it was recommended I use the "purple Listerine". I figured why not. I've been using this product a LOOONG time and have noticeably better control of tartar, and haven't had a cavity or other problem ever. I consider this a religious thing, don't ever not use it including while travelling.

We’ve been using this listerine lately (tbh I don’t know why, my bf brought it home one day and how I always but the “purple one”). It’s super strong and will burn your tongue if you don’t swish but it works great. You feel so fresh and clean after like you literally killed everything bad in your mouth. 20 seconds of pain for all the gain! Love a fresh mouth.
