[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using this product the day I got it on my knee. I could tell the pain did subside but it only lasted about 4-5 hours. The cream is really cold at first which was nice at times. It was very easy to rub in as well. The dose card was nice to have but it seemed like a huge amount for my knee. But overall I do give this product 4 stars.

Using Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel is different than anything else I've tried. It contains real medicine to get to the root of the problem. The gel absorbs quickly, is not sticky, and has no scent. I received this item free from Voltaren and Influenster in exchange for my honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Voltaren is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate joint pain and inflammation. I’ve tried several pain creams and gels before, but this is the only NSAID pain gel I’ve used. My joint pain is in my wrists and fingers because my career has required heavy computer/mouse/keyboard usage for over a decade. You need to wash your hands immediately after application unless the area being treated is your hands. I used Voltaren on my aching fingers once, but after getting some in my eye later in the day, I decided not to treat my fingers. When applying to my wrists, I use the pre-measured amount and rub it in from my other wrist, the opposite side, leaving me able to apply to both wrists without using my fingers. Because Voltaren is a medicated (NSAID), be mindful of the use of other NSAIDs, medications for pain and inflammation, such as ibuprofen or naproxen. When I needed to take a pain reliever for a headache or other pain, I was not able to use the Voltaren. This product is an effective pain reliever when used as instructed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really hoping Voltaren would give some relief, but honestly it didn’t do much for us. The instructions were confusing right from the start. It says you can only use it on “no more than two body parts” for 7 days straight. She has arthritis in both knees, her wrist, and her elbows, so we weren’t sure what counted as a “body part.” Do both knees count as one area? Or is it literally one knee = one area and one wrist = the second? There’s no clear guidance, and for people actually dealing with pain in multiple joints, that makes it harder to know how to use it correctly. Even after following the directions as closely as possible, there really wasn’t much improvement. The only thing she felt was a warming sensation, similar to Ben Gay or other typical over-the-counter cream options. But the warm feeling didn’t turn into actual pain relief or reduce any discomfort in the joints. We used it consistently for the full 7 days just to give it a fair chance, and still no noticeable difference. For the price and the way it’s marketed, I expected at least some temporary relief, even if minor. If I’m recommending an OTC product to someone dealing with arthritis, I want something that actually helps hold them over until they can get treatment from their doctor. Unfortunately, Voltaren didn’t do that for her. It may work for others, but based on our real experience, it just wasn’t effective and didn’t live up to the expectations.

Unlike traditional topicals that can burn or freeze, this is a fairly thick gel that is slightly cool but has no strong odor or extreme temperature sensation. The included thick plastic dosing card helps me to dispense the correct amount for either a lower or upper body area. The card is easy to wash afterward and is sturdy enough for repeated use. Additionally, free replacements are available upon request. The 20 gram tube that I received for review purposes was sufficient for several applications but not enough for me to know how well it can deliver relief, as the instructions indicate that it can take some time to reach therapeutic levels. I do observe what I’d consider to be some welcome loosening of a tight ankle joint about 10 minutes after application. Please pay very careful attention to all the label information, as this is a powerful product that is not recommended for certain groups of people. Additionally, there is a specific warning about alcohol consumption. I like that this is a very targeted medication and that the manufacturer has included such specific instructions for its use. I’m just not fully convinced that it is the solution for me based on this limited sampling experience.

I used a pea sided amount and it did take care of the pain that I have on my knee. The storage is very easy, I just put it in my medicine cabinet and it fits. I really didn't feel any side effects.
