There is a slight scent but it dissipates after you rub in the gel. It absorbs quickly. My husband’s grandma uses this product regularly and says it works well. It’s her preferred brand for achy joints. It’s also a good value for the price you pay because the 3.5 oz tube lasts quite awhile.

I have tried a lot of things to relieve the pain. Unfortunately, this did not lift away a whole lot of pain for me. I didn’t like the smell, and the residue felt sticky afterwards. I don’t have arthritis yet, so it probably works for arthritis pain. I do understand that that is a different kind of pain than what I have. It probably works for muscle and bone aches, but what I have is neuropathy, and it did not work to calm nerve pain.

Before receiving the Voltaren Arthritis Pain gel I had never tried anything for the arthritis developing in my elbow. Once I began feeling pain, I applied to pain gel and hoped that there would be some quick relief. The positive is that after a few days I began feeling the relief and knew that the pain gel was doing what it is ultimately intended to do. The negative is that I wish the relief came a little sooner and not at the 5-day mark. The smell isn’t too bad at all, BUT a little bit of the gel goes a long way so ensure you aren’t overusing it and completely wasting more than you have to.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because at times I still felt stiff and achy either at the end of the day or in the mornings until the cream took effect. But I stopped using my oral anti-inflammatory so I only am using this product. The cream itself is somewhat thinner so it spreads easily and dries very quickly. There is no lingering scent or pungent smell like traditional arthritis creams. And I found I was able to do all tasks that I could do while on oral anti-inflammatory meds so I think it works well! I will purchase in the future and would recommend.
