My daily oats, but make it cookies

I eat oats pretty much every day, but my favorite way to eat them barely qualifies as oatmeal: breakfast cookies. Mash one banana, mix in one cup of these oats, shape into little cookies, and bake at 350° for about 10 minutes. That's it. Two ingredients and suddenly eating cookies for breakfast feels like a responsible adult decision. Quaker Old Fashioned oats are always in my pantry and if anyone asks, yes, cookies are breakfast food.

Box slit on bottom

The oatmeal in itself I'm sure is good, but the box has a slit in it to where oatmeal was coming out. With it having a slit in it, I choose not to eat this particular one. I do not know how to get a picture on here . I took one but don't know how to get it in here

    have loved it forever

i have had oatmeal all my life ever since i can remember. back when i was a kid my mom had to cook it the old fashion way, didnt have the "quick cooking" i remember she always used the same saucepan to boil it in. Every morning we had a bowl of oatmeal while we waited for the school bus to come. We would add a few raisins or what ever berry was in season from the farm. Now i am concerned about gluten in my diet and i am so glad that my old friend "oatmeal" is naturally gluten free.

What happened to my favorite oatmeal?

I'm 43 y/o and have eaten Quaker oats my entire life. I always paid more because it was worth it to get the full oat and better taste. But now for the last 6 months, the oats are pieces parts! What I once loved is now mush. Very sad. I REALLY liked my Quaker oats, but I'm not paying the extra money if generic quality is what I'm going to get.

    Still great taste as

Still great taste as my grand-parents have given me as a child. Keeps me full right up until lunch. This might be bland for some to eat plain. Add in some berries, maybe some flax seed, or protein powder. It's delicious treat, as well as great filling breakfast !

    I love oatmeal and

I love oatmeal and eat it several times a week. I only buy Quaker Oats. It's what I grew up eating. The old fashioned is my favorite because it doesn't do that mushy slimy thing that most people associate oatmeal with. It's always a staple on my shelf

    Quakers delicious puffed crisps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am constantly looking for a great tasting, healthy snack for my boys. I finally found it. They are begging me to buy the Quakers Popped Rice crisps when we go to the store! Thanks Quaker for coming up with a healthy snack!

Love this brand of oatmeal. It's cost effective and really good with some cinnamon and oat milk or brown sugar and oat milk. I recently have been eating this all the time now that I'm nursing my son and it's been said to increase your milk supply. I do have a good supply not sure if the oatmeal is helping but it's definitely not giving me issues.

    Love making over night

Love making over night oats and oatmeal cookies with this brand. I have tried store brands and they sometimes have a cardboard taste so we always but the Quaker brand. They're are fairly priced and super yummy however you make them or whatever you add to them! ☺️

    My Childhood

Quakeroats has always been part of my childhood. Every morning my mother would serve me a bowl of oatmeal. What's fantastic about this is that I was able to flavor it as I pleased. So, there was never a dull morning as long as I had my oatmeal. Still to this day I eat oatmeal every morning, I'm 22 now.

    Quaker Oatmeal is now different!

I had eaten your Old Fashioned Quaker oatmeal for over 60 years but stopped buying it over a year ago because it changed and their were pieces of oats that didn't seem to cook properly. I always cooked it in a double boiler buy also have tried the microwave. I've tried some other brands too with out too much sucess. Would not object to paying more if you kept the older products. Are you by any chance using GMO oats? Something just isn't the same. A lot of breads are also changing their texture.

    I love using these

I love using these oats for all my meal prepping for breakfast for the week! I love that you get a large amount of oats in each container & that the container is always filled to the top. You're never in doubt that you're being cheated out of a certain amount of product, like you are with chip bags, that turn out to be 50% chips & 50% air

Super easy quick oatmeal if you're someone who is typically in a rush in the mornings. Plus they store easily enough and work great in all types of recipes. Plus it has a pretty great shelf life so even if you aren't using it as often, it'll still be good to use next time you need it.

    Not of yore!

Because of the salt content, I stopped using the bags. Because of texture, I stopped using one-minute. This morning I used old fashioned and am sad to say that the texture is not what I recall as a child (I'm 75). As a matter of fact, the entire taste and feel is nothing close to the Quaker Oats of yore. Is there an explanation?

    I grew up eating

I grew up eating Quaker Oats. It tastes great. You can make it sweet or savory just like you would grits. I usually add flax and vanilla to the water before it boils. You can also add raisins, nuts or fresh fruit. I prefer to boil the raisins with the water. All other fruit and nuts I save for the finished product. I almost always add cinnamon too. Instead of milk and brown sugar I use pure maple syrup. The pure maple syrup adds another dimension of vitamins and nutrients and tastes great. If you want savory you can top with seasonings, cheese and cooked veggies. You could even add shrimp. Yum!

Quaker Old Fashioned No Longer Rolled

I have been eating QUAKER Old Fashioned Oats for 30 years. Recently you changed the way the oats are made. I understand they are no longer rolled. I recently bought 2 boxes and had the same experience…awful! No matter how much time & cooking they come out hard and stiff I’m very very disappointed. Please go back to the original process of rolling these oats.

    Very poor cooking directions

I have used the steel-cut oatmeal for years and like it very much. The store was out so I bought this instead and made it according to the directions on the container. It was a total disaster and we had to discard it. I am not sure if I will try again.

    Can't beat an original!

Old Fashioned Quaker Oats, besides being great tasting, is an easy to prepare, versatile product. It gives body to meatloaf, works as a topping for fruit desserts, works with flour or bread crumbs to make a crunchy coating, is wonderful hot with fruits and other toss-ins. Healthy, too!

    Love the 'new' packaging!

I eat Old Fashioned rolled oats at a minimum of 6 days/week and it's the main ingredient of my favorite no-bake cookies. I buy the 42oz canister and the handy pouring punch out is a real up-grade to using other brands. It sounds a bit 'market-y' to be gushing over a punch-out pouring area but it makes a huge difference when I just want the stuff to go into the bowl or measuring cup without getting on the counter! I bought another brand when the Quaker's was out of stock & learned my lesson - I was hating breakfast until I finished the canister and opened up Quaker's again.

My twin 2 year old Granddaughters love it‼️

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I keep my granddaughters 2 days a week. When they get here about 6 am we hug, snuggle up and catch up on what is going on with them. I ask them what they want for breakfast. Quaker grits or oatmeal. They will go to the cabinet I keep it in and each will get me what they want. I scramble each of them an egg and split a piece of toast with them. They love breakfast and they love Quaker grits and oatmeal‼️

    I really prefer Old

I really prefer Old school Oats. I like its texture and the flavor is perfect, not too sweet. I eat it sometimes like cereal and add banana. Sometimes add it to my protein smoothie. Oats are recommended for their high fiber, protein, vitamin B and antioxidants

    Something has changed recently

I have been eating these oats for years, and until the last purchase (big box at a nationwide club", they cooked very consistently to a nice texture. All of a sudden, no mater how long you cook these, they are much more firm and chewy. They also seem a bit darker, but could be non-thing. Several other reviews are the same, something changed! I also cook these in the microwave mostly, but stove top yields the same chewy bowl of oats.
