Been eating it forever. also good for itchy skin.

Hi, tried to click on 4 stars but nothing happened. I have been eating Quakers Oats since i was a kid. My mom would put sugar on it, and sometimes butter, but as I got older, I discovered I liked it made with milk and not water, and surprise surprise, I liked it with a pinch of salt instead of butter and sugar. Now that I sometimes use it as a carbohydrate substitute if I run out of bread etc, I put fruit or jam etc on it. Someone referred to this as steel cut... is it? I thought steel cut was like hard pellets. I have only had the cooking variety that is oat flakes. By the way, I sometimes would make a slurry of oatmeal for my skin if it was very itchy. Seemed to help a lot.

I love Quakers Oats, I as a kid liked the minute because it was so fast cooking. Now as a adult I prefer the old fashion. It is so reasonable price. During the Holidays we use Old Fashioned oats for cookies and my favorite the no bake cookies. Sweets a side Oatmeal is fantastic meal energy producing food.

Worse oatmeal I’ve ever eaten

Not only has the package change the taste is changed and the oats has changed. They do not cook down like they should they used to be creamy. You could cook it all the way down it would turn out creamy it’s not doing that. It’s very chewy and the taste is awful definitely does not taste like oatmeal anymore. I don’t know what you’re doing to it but whatever it is it’s changed from 50 years ago.

Love the 'new' packaging!

I eat Old Fashioned rolled oats at a minimum of 6 days/week and it's the main ingredient of my favorite no-bake cookies. I buy the 42oz canister and the handy pouring punch out is a real up-grade to using other brands. It sounds a bit 'market-y' to be gushing over a punch-out pouring area but it makes a huge difference when I just want the stuff to go into the bowl or measuring cup without getting on the counter! I bought another brand when the Quaker's was out of stock & learned my lesson - I was hating breakfast until I finished the canister and opened up Quaker's again.

I Love it !

I've eaten old fashioned Quaker oats my whole life. I'm over sixty and I still Love them. I use them to make meatloaf. I was surprised to learn that 1/2 cup dry ( whole cup cooked) has 5 grams of protein. Who knew? Most people I know, who are oatmeal lovers have lower cholesterol levels as well. I tout the greatness of oatmeal to my friends and co-workers. and who does'nt Love the fact you've kept the box basically the same. familiar and friendly, two words everybody Loves. Thanks!

With These oats I

With These oats I love making hot cereal with, however I use them with crisps, drop cookies, protein shakes, granola bars. The quality is always constantly the best. I recommend blending with any but butter as well as melted chocolate to coat it and make simple drop cookies.

Issue

I have been buying the Banana Nut Quaker Oatmeal for months now but this last box I bought is not good. I had one pack that was great as always but the other five packs tasted as if there where ingredients left out and I had to throw them away. I may love this oatmeal but I refuse to pay$4.00 or more a box and the oatmeal taste horrible..
