Have been making these

Have been making these bowls for myself since I was a kid. Super heart healthy and a perfect replacement for the sugary cereals we are so accustomed to. I cook it on the stove 1 cup oats to 2 cups water for about 15 mins. 5 mins with the lid on. I add salt to the water to help it boil. Once its done I add milk, cinnamon, maple syrup, and vanilla to taste.

Spice it up.

When I have cooked my bowl of porridge, I love to spice it up. After putting in honey and a little more milk, try adding a pinch of cinnamon, or ginger, or nutmeg or vanilla extract. My favorite however is the seeds from 3 green cardamoms and some nutmeg added after grinding them up in a pestle and mortar. Yum yum!!

This is just a

This is just a classic. I will use both as a warm stove top fresh breakfast on the weekend and I will use for overnight oats during the week so my husband and I always can grab a breakfast as we are running out the door in the morning. I would absolutely recommend this to others.

Also disappointed in the processing change

I must agree with all of the negative reviews. We, also. have been using Quaker Old Fashioned Oats for more years than we can count. They always turned out smooth and creamy, whether prepared with water or milk, microwaved or on stove top. This new batch does not turn out this way. The oats are tough and chewy. What happened?? I already spoke to someone via your toll-free phone number yesterday who was very nice. I had no idea that other consumers were having the same negative experience with the product until I went online just now.

My Childhood

Quakeroats has always been part of my childhood. Every morning my mother would serve me a bowl of oatmeal. What's fantastic about this is that I was able to flavor it as I pleased. So, there was never a dull morning as long as I had my oatmeal. Still to this day I eat oatmeal every morning, I'm 22 now.

What happened to the Original Recipe?

Dear Quaker Oats I have been eating Quaker Oats Oatmeal for breakfast ever since I can remember and I’m now 76. Now I am eating the instant “Original Oatmeal” for breakfast every morning. Are the Quaker Oatmeal staff members “Out of their minds”. I don’t know who implemented the “NEW RECEIPT” but I, as a qualified taster, I do not care for it! To the point I may start looking for another Brand! The texture, and flavor have changed! What else is there? Unhappy Customer John

I love oatmeal and

I love oatmeal and Quaker has always been my favorite. They have so many quick options with so many different flavors. I always but the old fashioned oats though so I can make it my own adding many different flavors or just eating it plain. It is such a delicious versatile breakfast

Request for new flavor

I wanted to share my famailies favorite way to eat Quaker Oatmeal. We add crispy bacon to the original flavor of Oats. I am in my early 50s and I grew up on eating Quaker Oatmeal this way and my kids have as well. It would be awesome to be able to have this flavor available.

Old fashioned oatmeal

I have been eating oatmeal for almost 50 years. I have always eaten the old fashioned type. I have been using a different brand for the last couple of years and decided to give Quaker another try. They are very chewy and don’t absorb the water when cooking. I’m not sure if this is a batch problem or a sourcing issue. Which by the way is not available, the label says distributed by Quaker but does not give where the crops are grown. I will be going back to the organically grown oatmeal I have been using and cannot see a good reason to try Quaker again with the lack of quality. I am disappointed and again having to rethink what I purchase and what I eat. Something has changed over the years with Quaker oatmeal.

Going back to store brand - Something Changed?

I have been eating oatmeal for decades and always went with store brand. I decided to try Quaker since everyone said it was better. I mixed up my first batch with the classic 2:1 ratio and is was extremely watery. I have always used the Easy as 123 method. 1 scoop oatmeal, 2 scoops of water, and 3 sweet n lows. I eventually got it to be the right thickness but the ratio was way off, more of a 1:1 ratio. I wasted so much oatmeal to try to get there and based on what I am seeing here, I may just go back to what worked for me.
