Clumps of brown sugar?

I too have ate this brand for years. I agree with the previous comment where are the brown sugar cups? Another thing that has really turned me off is the occasional piece of black something when I smash it against my bowl with a spoon it almost seems as if it’s an insect. Completely turned my stomach and turned me off. I use to enjoy eating this because it’s good for your heart and healthy for your body. Please improve the recipe Quaker. Hopefully not too many grammar issues as I was not able to go back and review my review!

40 years and going strong

These humble packettes of Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeal have been my healing quick-fix since I was 3 years old. Now that I'm all gown up, I'm considering radical and dangerous life-extension procedures just so I can continue eating it for as long as possible. Nothing is more delicious and comforting, and I enjoy it at all hours of the day and night. I also love that the flavor is available in lots of new dietary varieties. There's no substitute for the efficacy of absorbing the nutrition we need via our food, and I think it's great that Quaker is giving customers (dare I say FANS?) so many options to customize their breakfast/lunch/midnight snack. Well, I'm off to my appointment with the robotic limb-replacement surgeons (the limbs are robotic, not the surgeons). Here's to another 40 years of oatmeal bliss!

New formulation - tastes terrible, less nutrition

I have Quaker Instant Oatmeal - Maple & Brown Sugar for breakfast almost daily along with berries and orange juice. Not only do I enjoy it but it meets certain nutritional requirements that I have. I just tried the new formulation, which I thought was just a change in packaging, and not only does it taste awful, it no longer meets my dietary requirements. The new version has the consistency of paste and the flavour is decidedly not as good as the old version. The new version has less fibre, more sugar , less calcium and FAR less iron. The old product had 40% of the daily required iron the new product has 8%. Unfortunately, I'll be switching up my breakfast routine to find another meal that meets my nutritional requirements, and also tastes far better than this tasteless paste. I appreciate that you're trying to eliminate some unnatural ingredients, but that doesn't help anyone who's eating the oatmeal for other nutritional reasons. Unless the old version comes back, you've lost a customer

New Box/New Flavor/ No more customer

Been eating the low sugar M&BS oats every morning now for at least 2 years. Saw the change on the box and went ahead and bought 3 of them anyways. Ate the first bowl and then threw almost 3 full boxes away as the new formula now taste like pooh. Now i have to find a new breakfast cereal. I get wanting to make a change to more natural ingredients and such, but i would have highly recommended just making a new line of "Natural ingredient" oats and offered both up. I know that you've at least lost my business. Let me know when you change back to the previous recipe and I would be more than happy to be a customer again.

Classic greatness

This is a Quaker classic! What's not to love? Maple and brown sugar have long been paired together and to have it in a quick and easy instant oatmeal is fantastic! I admit I've tried generic brands. The quality if the oats is no match and the flavor just doesn't compare to the one and only Quaker Oats!

Horrible taste !!!

What happened, I use to buy 4 boxes at a time of the maple and brown sugar and when I went to buy this time I noticed the box change but bought it anyway and it is terrible, if I wanted plain stale unflavored oatmeal I'd buy plain oatmeal. I went from eating it for breakfast and sometimes dinner to I'm never eating this again and I'm mad for wasting money on these 2 boxes because they can't even be doctored up to taste good...There is plenty of unflavored oatmeal out there for those people who perfer cardboard to eat.

Can't put my finger on it

Been eating quaker instant oatmeal packets for 35 years. Always Cinnaom Spice and Maple Brown Sugar. Not sure exactly but the Brown sugar tastes artificial and little more like cream of wheat than what it tasted like in years past. Hope they are able to bring back a more real Brown sugar flavor. Switched over to plain 1 minute and add my own cinnamon and Brown sugar.

Still My Favorite

This is my favorite oatmeal. Where does the "maple" ingredient come from? I do not see the source of that ingredient on the ingredient list. I love the taste and the texture. I microwave mines with added water and then "cream it out" by adding lactose free milk. It's delicious, and I like that a serving / package doesn't contain too much salt or carbs. Those who want more salt / carbs (sugar) / etc., can add that to their oatmeal. What we cannot do is remove salt / carbs that are already in the package. So I love the formulation.

The old formula was an easy 5 stars - why change??

Growing up in the 70's and 80's I LOVED Quaker maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal. After having a bowl recently, it tasted awful, artificial with a bad after-taste. I thought perhaps my taste bud were more mature? After a little research I realized that I was not alone, apparently Quaker make some kind of change to the formula and that is why it now tastes disgusting. I am certainly not along, most comments I read are from people like me, who loved the original and are baffled by the change? Please take a lesson from Coke and bring back the original formula!

gross

Whatever you did to change this product, change it back please. It smells up my cabinet and tastes awful. I do not see any brown sugar in it any more, either. Just a strange tasting white maple flavored powder. I won't be buying this kind again. my kids will not eat it either. this is the only quaker product i do not like.
