- 2 out of 5 stars review1/20/2018I have a brownie recipe I have made for years. I finish with sprinkling Nestle toll house chips, putting the pan back in the oven (after turning it off), for a few minutes, the chips used to melt and I spread to make a frosting, The last two times I made these, this no longer works. I ripped the brownies up trying to spread the (not) melted chips. Putting them back in oven longer just dries the brownies out. This has been a no fail, easy frosting for decades that doesn't work anymore. What changed?

I use a recipe from a church cookbook that uses oatmeal and of course nestle chocolate chips. There is always a tin of cookies in my freezer that is enjoyed by children and grandchildren. Our favorite way to eat them is frozen!

I have nestle products in my cupboard and will continue to purchase nestle products for all my needs. Nestle semi-sweet morsels are used more than other products by Nestle. First, I made a big cookie on a round pizza sheet. I used half the bag in this and decorated it with red candies in a heart shape. It was a nice surprise for my husband. He loved it and so did I. Then, I used the other half of the bag as a chocolate coating for some cheesecake truffles. I used leftover store-bought cheesecake to make balls and then melted the chips, with a little shortening, to coat them. Everything I made with them was delicious. However, for a chocolate treat/cheat, a tablespoon of chocolate chips can be stretched out over quite a while, if you let them dissolve in your mouth, one at a time, every several minutes.

Semi-sweet are a great go to most cookies because they add that great chocolate but aren't so sweet they make your teeth hurt. My biggest problem is keeping the family out of the bag so I have them to make treats.

Recently, my store began stocking Ghiradelli and I was surprised at their superior taste. They are more expensive, so I still use both brands depending upon the end product. This probably is not what you wanted to hear. Ghiradelli are smoother and less waxy tasting, in my opinion.

They add a layer of flavor to sweet breads like pumpkin, banana and apple bread. Great melted as coating for cake pops and candy. they are also versatile as decorations: Snowman buttons on sugar cookies, I make a" cookies and cream" style cheeseball and roll it in Nestle mini chips. The Nestle family of semi sweet chocolate chips can be found in many of my recipes. Sometimes we eat them right out of the bag Yum!
