I have read the reviews, as I came to the site to comment regarding my experience and let you know that the product is not up to par with Zip Lock quality. I see that I'm not alone in my disappointment. Every time I pull the bag out of the box and open the bag to put something it in, it splits down the sides. I have tried to be very gentle with the product to prevent this from happening. I end up having to throw away an unused zip lock sandwich bag and I'm not impressed. I'd prefer not to switch brands, so I came to the site to see if there was a reason for it or if Zip lock offered another product. I really hope you refer back to your trusted and working design. This plastic you are using is not good quality and the design is not working. Closing and opening the bags are not use friendly. To avoid this all together I am using plastic containers. Please bring back the Zip lock quality sandwich bags!!

Horrible "new" design. The bags don't close! Easy open yes because you can never get them to close. I run my fingers along the edge over and over again and they never seal. You have to pinch and wiggle the bag to get it to close. I finally gave up and threw them out.

When I purchased this product I was pretty excited because I have arthritis and have had difficulty opening them in the past. But I must say I'm pretty disappointed. Ziploc has always been my brand of choice, but I opted for a store brand that works much better. The quality is not as good, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make. You really need to fix this issue!

Purchased the club size in both the sandwich size and quart size. Our family made an honest attempt to make these work but the new zipper closure is very difficult to close, to the point of frustration. Often items stored are not kept fresh as the bags either weren't closed when assumed they were or they came open prematurely. We absolutely loved the previous design and beg for its return or we will probably switch to a bargain brand. Sad, loyal customer.

We also bought a 500 count box of these bags. They are not an improvement, in fact, a regression on design. I don't need an extra color to tell me where the top of the bag is. I don't need a tab to make it easier to open. Just bring back the old seal.

Life the closure on these sandwich baggies best. Beats the 60's baggies with the tuck and pullover where everything would fall out. We have come a long way baby and these are good quality as one expects with ziplock. Bravo for evolution and grip and seal tech!

Unfortunately, a great product is now very much worse than the original. The main issue is not being able to close the bag -- it will not 'zip'... No time to struggle for 5 minutes trying to close the bag. The 'zip' will not join, or joins partially, and pops open again. Come on, S C Johnson, go back to the original ziploc closure ! Please.

I am disappointed in these Ziploc bags. I bought them because of the new easy open tabs, which are great. But the zipper on these "Made in Thailand" bags is so small that it is almost impossible to line up and pressing it closed happens only by a miracle. I am very disappointed.

NEW DESIGN IS TERRIBLE - BRING BACK OLD VERSION. Basically, this seal is not air or water tight. Put item in the bag, seal it, put in fridge overnight, it has inflated with air or other gas. Squeeze the bag gently but firmly and the air/gas will escape. Ziploc quart and gallon storage bags don't do this, neither did old design. Sure, marketing department has to focus on the new "easy open" feature to hopefully sell more. If they focused on the new "not air tight" feature people won't buy them. Trust me, after buying one box neither I nor others will be buying them again. Look at all the negative reviews. Sure, new design may result in cheaper price (or not increasing the price) and initial sales, but repeat sales WILL NOT HAPPEN. From scientific perspective, I believe the inflation is caused by items in the bag releasing gases and this is quite normal. Seal is good enough to keep them from escaping. But the gases can be squeezed out by squeezing the bag gently but firmly. If the bag had an air tight seal, like the old design and the larger bags**, then the only way to release the gas is to open the bag, squeeze, and re-seal it. ** Larger bags refers to bags with regular ziploc seal, not the "slider" seal. Those are also not air/water tight.

I was provided a free sample of these sandwich bags. I send my kids to school with reusable cloth bags for sandwiches and snacks. I am trying to reduce my use of plastic. However these are great for storing household items or something like raw chicken when you know you need to throw it away after use.
