I don't know how you could possibly consider these Ziploc's because they don't lock. They'll shut, but at the slightest pressure they will bust open. I don't even wanna waste my time going into all the details on why these are terrible, but don't waste your money. It's not what you think it is.

Being able to fill my beloved Ziploc bags without any help or spilling is the extra feature I never knew I needed. This is perfect for saving anything that used to require an extra set of hands-from pasta salad to soups to fruit. The bag folds down on top and the bottom flattens and stays put. There is no mess. Because the top folds down, the liquid doesn't even get near the top, so it stays sanitary. I think this would be perfect for marinating chicken without the hassle. I'm so glad I was sent these Ziploc Stay Open Design bags to try in exchange for my review. I'm hooked and will definitely buy these from now on. Anything that makes my life a little easier is a win!

Every other plastic bag I've used has to lay down on its side, and so is a pain, especially for liquids or things which needs to be poured/dumped in like salads or fruits/veggies from a big bowl. The only change I would make, though, is the seal. I often use bigger bags for marinating chicken and other proteins, and so my hands are really dirty, and I often only have one clean hand at best for closing the bag. This seal needs two hands; a zipper closure would be so much better, but it's a minor inconvenience as the seal works just fine and is better than standard plastic bags that don't have the special flap.

I bought a four pack of large box of gallon size freezer grip n seal bags and every bag has ripped along the fold line when I grab the bag to simply move them or they tear as I'm carrying the bag from the freezer. I have tried putting less items in the bags but they still rip. I expect better quality from Ziplock.

I put food items in them that I open that need to stay fresh. Also use them for travel bottles like shampoo and the bags stay sealed. They're durable so you can use them for a variety of things.

You can see on the bags themselves how to set them up. It will be so much easier to put away leftovers , especially sauces or soups, due to the style of these bags, I am curious to see how they will hold up in a freezer but have nothing but good impressions of this new style!

We love to sous vide meat before throwing in on the grill, but working with raw meat and marinade can be super messy! With the stay open design, I'm able to easily move food from the bowl into the bag during prep. I also just used these to pack cosmetics and sunblock for a vacation and was impressed by how much they hold. Thank you for sending me a free sample to try, Zip Loc! To be honest, I'm a terrible liar, so I'm always honest even if it gets me into trouble. I've always preferred resealable bags that have the zip lock instead of the slider bags. Ziploc storage bags seal better, are more study, and are less likely to puncture easily. I love that you can wash and reuse the gallon storage bags. It's also very convenient that you can use the bags in the microwave, such as steaming fresh veggies. You obviously will need to watch the bag in the microwave so you don't cause the bag to melt. I prefer the gallon size because there's many times that a quart size is just a tad bit too small. Oh, and I have no issues with using the storage gallon Ziploc bags in my freezer. Whatever I put in the bags to be frozen has never had a freezer burn, nor has the bags ripped open from tossing around other frozen foods in my freezer chest.
