The gallon size is way bigger than the regular sandwich ones. These are the perfect size for leftover salad greens or a carton of fruit. These bags helped save my foods from spoiling, as keeps them fresher for just a bit longer than usual! They're super easy to use and the press seal keep items secure with a tight fit. You can practically use these for anything else too, not just food. I would recommend Ziploc over any other brand for this type of product.

What I really like about these bags is the raised tab that's at the top of the bag to make it easier to open the bag. I think that's my favorite feature about it. I also Iike the reminder on the bag that you can fold the top down and fill the bag. I really like that feature as well. I think the bags themselves feel a little on the flimsy side. But other than that I really do like the product.

And its prevents spillage as well. I use the bags to separate and store my costume jewelry. It helps my jewelry from tarnishing.

According to a picture on the box and the bags themselves, they should stand up and stay open on their own. They do if you smoosh the bag down very low, but if you try to keep the bag taller to use the full gallon's worth of storage, they don't stay upright. This could get very messy. The quality of the bags themselves are great. I just won't use them how I hoped (being able to easily dump leftovers without needing someone else to hold the bag open or otherwise prop it up.

Each year we grow our own tomatoes and then we make many jars of spaghetti sauce for the winter months out of them. For each batch of sauce we need up to 50 LBS of chopped tomatoes. So what happens is as the tomatoes ripen they get peeled, sieved and put into Ziploc Gallons. They are then frozen until there is enough for a batch of sauce. We ONLY TRUST Ziploc gallon bags for this task. NOT ONCE have we lost a drop of our precious tomato puree! They are the toughest, strongest and mostly reliable bag on the market today! Yes, zip lock bags are good and very strong. They could hold a lot of weight without ripping the bag. I really don't like the slider zip lock bags though because of how easy the plastic zip breaks off. Sometimes the top of the bag does rip off but very rarely. I have stopped buying these and use the regular ones instead.

Not very pleased with Ziploc lately. They have really cheapened their products. The bags rips at the sides just trying to open the top of the bag and the plastic is so thin now - things poke through so easily. Most normal baggies of all sizes seem to be this way. The freezer versions are much better and Hold up well...and of course they are much more expensive.

The namesake brand truly does hold up because the "lock" component never breaks and the bag can pretty much hold anything of any size. I usually use the bags to freeze my leftovers and prevent them from getting frostbite. I would say I barely ever, if ever, get frostbite on my food when uses Ziploc.
