It works. Replaced the same one I had before, which I destroyed by trying to shred a credit card. Problem was that the credit card was actually metal, even though it looked plastic. There should be a warning about this when it says you can shred credit cards.

I bought this yesterday and the motor bogs down significantly with anything other than one sheet of paper. If you put two or three sheets, it will bog down and act like it's going to stop. The shred also falls behind the basket making a huge mess when you empty it. Taking it back to the store tomorrow!

It doesn't have the small slot for credit cards. Customer service says do NOT lubricate the blades. My previous shredder was a Fellowes. I also had Fellowes lubricant. What is different about this machine's blades that they don't need lubrication? It can't be run for long periods as it will get hot. I probably should have got another Fellowes. It lasted me over 10 yrs. I don't think this one will.

When someone is buying the shredder as a GIFT - Ask them to purchase a box of bags too. I am homebound Senior. I received the shredder as a gift but no bags. So, what am I to do now? It sits here unusable. Train your employees' to request this purchase also. Thank you.

bought this for my father, his old one just stopped working. he loves how easy this shredder works and how quiet it runs. says the machine pulls the paper in easily and shreds it quickly. easily an excellent investment, not too expensive either. would definitely buy one again.

This is a great shredder and works really good. I gave it only 4 stars because of the Label on the front screen. In order to see how full it is you have to remove the front label. My wife spent a lot of time trying to remove the label from a screen. What a ridiculous place to put a stick-on label and it was quite large. We have always had Royal Shredders and they work very reliably....

This unit is awesome! I shred everything & have gone through a few units in my time. For the reviews that state the unit stopped after 15 min or it doesn't work as promised, the unit is designed that way to keep it from burning up (like every shredder I've ever had). You have to keep in mind this is NOT a professional grade (which would cost 3 to 4 times as much). This unit is so quiet, I can't believe it! When you put 12 pages in & it folds over, that's like putting 24 pages in, maybe that was the issue. I usually put no more than 6 pages & I don't worry if they get in there straight or not & I've no issues. I've been searching for a shredder for a long time, and I am glad that I decided on this one.

Shredder less than a year old and useless. Never was successful in putting 12 pages through at a time. Definitely not an asset to a busy office. Purchased a heavy duty shredder from Sam's and it lasted over 10 years. Wanted a cross-cut and bought this one and do not recommend for volume shredding.

I purchase 2 of these -- one for home office and one for very small business office. The home office one went out first: would not shut off, then started smelling like burning electronics. I thought this was a fluke, so I returned it for an exchange. The very next time I used the b'ness one, the motor started whining, then grinding, and it started smelling like hot metal....without even running anything through it. Then it wouldn't shut off either. I returned it and the replacement (figured it was bound to go out soon and didn't know if I would get a warranty start date on the original purchase or replacement date, so I didn't take any chances).

Just received item and seems solid. However, really to early to tell. Ask me again in 4-5 months.
