Did some research and found out that this oil contains the additives of older style oils of the 60 and 70's! So it protects the older engines with the type of parts that the newer oils don't necessarily cover. Put it in my old Jeep Cherokee and notice a much quieter running machine with a more consistent oil pressure. We will see how things work out after another 1000 miles or so on this batch. And I'm changing over all the oils in my 4 other vehicle to this also!

And if you take advantage of the oils ability to take care of your engine for extended oil change periods, it is the most economical. Buy oil filters designed specifically for synthetic oil and extended oil change periods and you can safely change oil every 10,000 miles. If you install a bypass oil filter in addition to your regular spin on filter you can extend your oil change periods even further. On my truck and car I change the element in my bypass filter every 5000 miles. I change my spin on filter every 10,000 miles. I also send a small sample of my oil to an oil testing lab at regular intervals to determine if I need to change oil and to determine the health of my engine. I have purposely not endorsed any products other than this oil so you can do your own research.

This oil can't be beat for both value and how it handles the old school and new school diesels. Has all the right ingredients to handle my old 12v cummins with ease. One of the gallons of oil had been damaged and leaked oil soaking the shipping box. The box was then left on my front porch. There are now oil stains on the porch. The box had obviously been treated with very little care. The delivery person should have certainly known not to put a leaking box containing oil on a customers porch. At the very least the damaged gallon container of oil needs to be replaced.

Shell / Rotella is a great fit for my vehicles and meets the specifications from the vehicle manufacture - Mercedes Benz. I will also investigate to see if this will work in my diesel tractor.
