My 22-month-old recently transitioned to this bed, and the low-to-the-ground design immediately gave me peace of mind. If he rolls out or decides to climb down on his own, there isn't a risk for injury which is huge when you have an active, curious toddler who wants to explore. He loves being able to climb in and out independently, and he also uses the frame as part of his imaginative play - sometimes it's a cozy fort, sometimes a little house, and sometimes just his own special space. That kind of open-ended play is so valuable at this age. Assembly was one of the biggest pleasant surprises. The bed came with everything needed to put it together including a quality Allen wrench and I didn't need any extra tools at all. Every single piece was clearly marked with alphabetical stickers, which made it incredibly easy to lay everything out and organize before starting. The instructions were straightforward, and I was able to build the entire bed in about 30 minutes by myself without frustration. Once assembled, the bed feels solid, sturdy, and well-constructed. The paint finish is smooth and looks durable, and the materials feel much higher quality than I expected for a toddler. It doesn't wobble or creak, even when my toddler pulls on it or bounces around on the mattress. If I had to mention a small consideration, it would be that because the design is so open and playful, some toddlers might be tempted to treat it like a jungle gym - but honestly, that's also part of the charm and why my child loves it so much. This bed is absolutely adorable and will be the perfect transition for my daughter as she moves out of her crib. I'm not going to lie, when I first saw how many pieces and screws came in the box, I was a bit daunted. But the set-up was a breeze, as it came with easy-to-follow directions and stickers labeling each piece. It can be constructed into two different configurations, the trellis structure or a basic rectangular structure without the trellis. We went with the trellis structure and are in love with its whimsical look. A standard crib mattress fits the structure, meaning if you already have a crib there is no need to buy a new mattress! The structure is fairly petite, fitting well in my daughter's smaller room along with her dresser and our larger rocker. I also love that the mattress sits directly on the floor so my daughter, who has some balance difficulties, can easily climb off and on the bed. The non-toxic coating is very nice, leaving absolutely no smell and a clean look. The only drawback of the exterior look is the number of screws that you can visibly see. Because the trellis bed is white, the silver screws are fairly easy to notice. Despite that, this toddler bed is an easy yes. Adorable? Check! Functional? Check! Great quality? Check!

The bed is absolutely adorable and I love how it can be either a floor bed for your child, but you can also take the A-frame canopy roof off and make it into a play fort for your kids too. The bed is practicality meets whimsical, which is ideal for any kiddo! I love that it sparks creativity for their little imaginations. The instructions were easy to follow and the bed did not take long to put together. Just a heads up, maybe let it air out for a day or so before your kiddo sleeps in it because it does have a bit of an odor at first. The odor does dissipate quickly though and is normal, so don't worry. The materials are solid and sturdy. I like that it was thoughtfully designed with a non-toxic coating, which is important to me as a parent with little kids. My toddler immediately climbed into it and rolled around and didn't get hurt since it's a floor bed. It provides safety and accessibility. This Montessori floor bed gives kids creativity and independence. It looks adorable in my daughter's room and matches her style and personality perfectly. My only reason for taking a star off is because the mattress is flat on the floor. I know it's a floor bed, but because there are no slats for air circulation, you will need to continuously pick it up and air it out to prevent potential mold. I do have carpeted flooring in my daughter's bedroom and live in a warm climate so that is the only caveat. Otherwise, the bed is perfect and absolutely adorable! It is well-made and seems like it will definitely last long.

The bed arrived in a nicely designed box that, while long, was skinny enough for me to carry inside by myself without struggling. When I opened it, everything was very organized. The wood pieces were easy to identify, and all the tools and screws were packaged neatly together. It was so nice not having to sort through multiple confusing bags like you sometimes get with furniture. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the wood. It was not the manufactured wood I expected. It feels sturdy and well made, the white paint is smooth and evenly applied, and I love that it is non-toxic for extra peace of mind with little ones. Assembly was quick and straightforward. I was able to put it together myself in about 20 minutes, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The design is easily one of my favorite parts. I love that it is multifunctional. It can be used as a house bed, or you can separate the base and use the top as a play feature. My boys immediately started calling it the “fort bed,” and they absolutely love it. Just adding a simple sheet or blanket over the top instantly created a fort, and they had so much fun playing in it. I truly love this toddler bed. It is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and great quality. I especially appreciate that the base can function as a standalone toddler bed while the top can still be used for imaginative play, which makes it feel like more than just a bed. If I could change one small thing, my son tends to roll out of the open end, so a partial bed rail could be helpful. That said, many toddler beds are designed this way, so it is not something unique to this one. Overall, this bed is well made, easy to assemble, and clearly a huge hit in our house because my boys are obsessed with it. I would absolutely recommend it to any parent looking for a toddler bed that is both practical and fun.

Out of all of the products I have tested, this is by far my favorite. I have three little ones under four and this toddler bed perfectly fits the needs of all of them. I chose to specifically place this bed in my 20 month old's room and she could not be more obsessed. We recently switched from a crib to toddler bed and the transition hasn't been the easiest. I am so grateful for this bed as my daughter went from tantrums at bedtime to requesting naps just to lay in her new “princess bed”. We decorated her room in a princess theme and the bed fits beautifully with the whimsical aesthetic. We chose to adorn the top of the bed frame with wrapped lights and it looks truly stunning. It's important to note that this bed design is extremely versatile and could easily work for any gender or theme. The set up was straightforward and I was able to independently build the bed in about 25 minutes. I was truly impressed with the quality as I am very specific on what products I will allow around my children. So many products geared towards young children are made with harmful materials so I especially appreciate the non-toxic coating on this bed. In fact, I am so impressed that I will be purchasing another bed to place in my son's room. Between the easy installation and top notch quality, I highly recommend this toddler bed. It came at the perfect time for us, as we were just getting ready to transition our almost 2 year old out of the crib, and this felt like the ideal first big kid bed. The design is so cute in person. I love the clean, simple look, and my daughter is obsessed with the house-like frame. It feels fun and cozy without being over the top. Quality-wise, I was really impressed. My toddler was amazed and beyond excited once we got the bed put together. She instantly jumped into bed and was excited to have her own space. She never slept in her own room until now. This bed gets her excited for bed time because it makes it fun. She has a sense of independence and confidence in her new comfort area. With the unique shape, you can drape fairy lights or a bed sheet to make it a fort. There are endless way to customize it. Since the bed is on the ground she can jump, play, and dance without concerns of her falling off. Another plus is that I can lay with my daughter in her bed without concerns of a weight limit. This gives us plenty snuggles and naps together in her own room. The downside, is you do have to be careful with potential head bumping on the top frame. Also, while getting in and out of bed you do have to watch for the bottom frame because you can bump a toe if your climbing in to quickly. The material is high quality and durable. So far, there has been no signs of paint chipping or wear. Putting this toddler bed together was definitely a struggle. You need two people because the point design makes it difficult to get the screws tight, while also in the right place. I had to hold the boards together while my partner installed the screws. We unfortunately put the triangle top piece together wrong twice due to the pictures not being so good. While this bed took some work to put together, the end results are worth it. The endless smiles and laughter from my daughter playing in her bed brings me so much happiness.

The assembly for the bed seemed daunting at first looking through the book. However it is packaged so all the pieces that go together remain together and are labeled with stickers. My 6 year old was even able to help me complete some of the assembly, it was that simple. The construction is sturdy once assembled thanks to the bolts that insure the screws are not going anywhere, and it gives me full confidence my full energy little toddler can use it very safely. I thought for sure that there were times the boards were going to be scratched but the non-toxic coating held up during assembly and makes me believe it will be very easy to clean as well. I was concerned when we finished there were extra pieces, but I love that after it can be converted into other pieces to grow with my child in play. Most importantly my toddler loves his new bed. We've been trying to transition to a big boy bed and not doing well. He is obsessed with farms and calls his bed his bed and barn. He loves it and is finally sleeping through the night on his own. Overall, we are extremely happy with his new toddler bed. From construction, materials, and his joy with it, we know we will have many happy nights ahead because of it.

My toddler loved it as well, he went right inside and asked me to read a book on his new bed. He goes into the bed to read multiple times a day! When I first took it out of the package I felt like it had a little bit of a smell but after it had been out for a couple of hours that was completely gone! The non toxic wax coating was smooth and felt durable to the touch, which is important for a toddler bed. The wood felt hard and strong as I was putting it together. The screws are long and thick and made the bed feel sturdy. Assembling the bed was a breeze! I actually did both of the bed options in the instruction manual and ended up sticking with the first part of directions for the toddler house bed. Please note that the crib mattress goes directly on the ground (no slats). This was not an issue for me. One point of confusion for me was when I built the bed as the play house/ Montessori bed (2nd part of instructions). I thought it meant the bed would slide in and out but the bed sits on its own not under the house. See photos for explanation. If you want it to be a house with the bed directly under, you need to stick with the first part of the directions. The easy set up and the appearance of the bed with the house feature on top are my favorite parts of this bed. I was able to build it with my 16 month old in the room with me. He loved it right away and we often read stories under the bed. A floor bed is the perfect option for my son because I love being able to lay next to him and support him to sleep without transferring him into a crib. I highly recommend this product!

From building it to sleeping in it to playing in it, my toddler has been a huge fan every step of the way. She even shows it off to every person who walks in the house. For my part, I love how simple and sturdy it is and how it sparks her creativity. This toddler bed frame is made of wood with a non-toxic coating, which I appreciate especially since my daughter is sleeping in it. It seems to be very sturdy and well made. It comes with the option to have the toddler bed with a trellis over it, or to have the little house frame separately from the bed frame. I appreciate this option, especially since it's been such a hit to play in. I can imagine at some point taking the pieces apart and putting the trellis part in our playroom. Assembly was very easy. My three year old helped, which was a great experience for us and I think shows just how simple assembly was. Of course I read the directions and tightened the bolts; but she was able to screw in the bolts on her own which made the bed even more exciting. The directions are straight forward and truly only an Allen wrench was needed. I just wish there were a few extra parts included. The only issue I've had is that our flooring is wood and it tends to skid across it if pushed. Of course when my daughter is lying on the mattress, it's not a problem. But I wish there was some sort of surface with traction on the bottom of the frame. That would make me feel a little better about both the bed frame holding up and the floor not getting scratched up. My daughter has loved sleeping in the bed. However, my favorite part, and what I've noticed most since we put it together, is that it has encouraged a massive amount of creative play. It has been a doctor's office, a school, a coffee shop, a car, the Banks's house from Mary Poppins… she has spent so much time in and around the bed, just pretending. This is exactly what I want to encourage in her at this stage and I am so glad that something as simple as her bed frame can support this. It's something I wish I would have thought of earlier, but am grateful to be able to provide her with now. Overall, the Little Seeds Trellis Toddler Bed is an excellent choice for any toddler. It's easy to put together, provides a Montessori bed experience for kids to sleep in, and encourages creativity.
