It is so good, I eat it right out of the can. I like to keep it in my desk at work for a quick lunch. I only wish the cans were bigger! I did add a bit of mayo and celery to mine, and heaped it onto an open face piece of good bread. It is a delicious option for a hot day you dont want to cook!

I'm very picky about tuna after some bad experiences, and I usually avoid buying it from major stores since I'm lucky enough to get it locally from the coast. That being said, this tuna compared very favorably with the local product. It was tasty straight out of the can, and the portion size was perfect for one—I prefer not to have leftovers, so that was a big plus. I tried the tuna three ways: plain, with mayonnaise, and with mayonnaise plus relish. All three were delicious, but my favorite was simply eating it right from the can—no draining needed. I've got one left, which I'm saving for a tuna melt, and I'm really looking forward to it. I also appreciate that it's wild-caught and sustainable—those are important factors for me, along with taste and portion size. The texture was meaty and high quality, without the fishy smell you sometimes get. It looked and tasted similar to the hook-and-line caught local tuna I usually buy. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, but I'll definitely be buying it again. The price is very reasonable for the quality. Since I'm often on the go, these portioned cans will also be a great addition to my hiking and camping kits. Highly recommended

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a sample of the Rio Mare tuna in oil as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I don't usually eat canned tuna because of the smell and texture but my husband is familiar with the brand and could not stop raving about it so I wanted to try it. Once I got it open, I noticed that there was no overly fishy smell from the tuna and the oil had a nice rich color. I tried a bit of it plain and found the taste to be very light but delicious. Then I prepared some the way that I usually have it, with a little mayo and some furikake and had it over rice. It was incredibly delicious and did not overpower any of the other ingredients. The texture was firm and it wasn't too salty. One issue that I did encounter was that the pull tab popped off immediately after I bent it up without puncturing the can. I had to use a can opener but this could have been user error, just something to look out for when opening. Overall, I really liked it and could see why my husband loves this brand of tuna. I understand that it's more of a premium product which is why it's priced higher than what we usually buy. It would definitely be considered a treat for us!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm usually a "whichever tuna is on sale in the biggest can" kind of buyer, which means I've tried lots of tuna brands over the years. Tuna in water or oil, I'll eat and enjoy both. But because I've never noticed it in my neighborhood grocery store, I'd never tried the Rio Mare until now. I've tried it on crackers with fresh herbs, with mayo in a tuna fish sandwich, and on salads. I"m so glad I gave it a try because this really is a lovely and refined canned tuna! The olive oil it's packed in gives it a subtle but elevated flavor. And having each can individually marked with the method of catch for the fish is such a helpful thing to know as a consumer. I tried the Rio Mare this time because it was provided through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. But now that I've tried it I'd definitely seek it out to buy in the future. It's pricier than the tuna I buy in bulk but I'll choose this over other brands when I want the tuna to take center stage in my recipes! Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed the flavor and texture of this tuna. It went very well with mayo and cilantro. It didn't not taste fishy and it was melty in your mouth. Good size pieces and it was so enjoyable to eat. I can't wait to get more for the household.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wild Tuna in Olive Oil by Rio Mare is definitely different than your average tuna! Although Wild Tuna is quite a bit more expensive than your typical tuna, it is pink in color and loaded with vitamins! Very delicious!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that the tuna did not taste fishy as some do, there are no added ingredients that are not needed, it was easy to pull apart and use in a pita sandwhich, I would prefer it be in a pouch instead of a can though.
