Alright

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this tuna was OK, I have never heard of the brand before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not the biggest fan of tuna that is in olive oil. It wasn't my favorite, but only because of that reason, but overall the taste was good.

Great tuna!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time trying RIO Mare Wild Tuna in Olive Oil, and I was not disappointed. I love the solid chunks of tuna bathed in the richness of the olive oil to make the perfect protein boost on its own, in a salad, in a sandwich, or on crackers. The olive oil also helped whatever seasonings you add to it adhere better to each piece of tuna. I definitely recommend this product and will buy it again in the future.

My new favorite canned tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only just come to appreciate tuna in olive oil (vs water), so I was excited to try the Rio mare tuna in olive oil. This is solid light wild caught tuna, with "a drizzle of oil, no need to drain". There are no additional ingredients. There is a legend so the buyer can determine the fishing method in the particular can of tuna. (My can was fished with surrounding nets & lift nets & hand operated) The label also includes the ocean & area. The expiration date on my can is in 2030, so I won't hesitate to stock up on additional cans for my pantry I tried the tuna right out of can and in a grilled tuna sandwich with mayo & pickle relish. The flavor and texture of this tuna is superior to other brands.

Wild Tuna in Olive Oil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wild Tuna in Olive Oil by Rio Mare is definitely different than your average tuna! Although Wild Tuna is quite a bit more expensive than your typical tuna, it is pink in color and loaded with vitamins! Very delicious!

Yummy tuna in oil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family loves canned tuna and we were all pleasantly surprised by how good Rio Mare Tuna in Olive Oil was. It was moist, had good tuna flavor, and was not fishy. It is great as a snack out of the can or used to make tuna salad or a pasta dish.

Good quality but would be pricey for tuna lovers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The taste (not too salty) and texture (easy to mix) of this Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil can were both great (per my husband). It is similar to a couple high-quality canned tuna options. A bit of the can was used to mix-in with a seafood dish we already made at home. My husband added it in and ate that on his lunch break. The rest was used to make a regular, basic tuna sandwich on his next break. He enjoyed the balanced taste and that it is in olive oil most of all. However if you're a tuna lover (like him), the cost (when actually purchased) would add up quickly. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this canned tuna product.

Yep, it's canned tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tuna is nice and fresh with an appropriately chewy texture. The oil adds some extra umami but I'd prefer nixing it to vastly improve the nutrition facts. Overall, this is totally fine and perhaps a titch better than the cheap stuff, but I could never justify paying the significantly higher price.

Delicious and smooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for the opportunity to test this tuna product out. I love a good tuna anything. Sandwiches, salads, a simple snack, you name it. I was pretty excited to try this product. The taste is decadent with a smooth flavor from the olive oil. It's nice not to have to drain it prior to eating. I usually use my canned tuna for dipping with some crackers or bagel chips. I also love to mix some mayonnaise and tomatoes for a nice small salad. If you like a good quality tuna for a quick healthy snack, I highly recommend this one. The price is a bit steep for the small cans but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A delicious tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm usually a "whichever tuna is on sale in the biggest can" kind of buyer, which means I've tried lots of tuna brands over the years. Tuna in water or oil, I'll eat and enjoy both. But because I've never noticed it in my neighborhood grocery store, I'd never tried the Rio Mare until now. I've tried it on crackers with fresh herbs, with mayo in a tuna fish sandwich, and on salads. I"m so glad I gave it a try because this really is a lovely and refined canned tuna! The olive oil it's packed in gives it a subtle but elevated flavor. And having each can individually marked with the method of catch for the fish is such a helpful thing to know as a consumer. I tried the Rio Mare this time because it was provided through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. But now that I've tried it I'd definitely seek it out to buy in the future. It's pricier than the tuna I buy in bulk but I'll choose this over other brands when I want the tuna to take center stage in my recipes! Definitely recommend.

Love the texture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and as weird as it may sound, I was super excited to try it out. I was excited to see it was solid tuna in olive oil. The first thing I noticed was the flaky texture. I am a very big texture eater and just looking at it, I knew it would taste as beautiful as it looked. I ate it plain first, then I tried it with a bit of cracked black pepper, and the third I made tuna salad with which consisted of mayo and relish, along with the tuna and some pepper. I loved it all three ways, but tuna salad the best. I think the retail price for what you are getting, quality wise, is fair.
