Smells good but without being overwhelming or chemically. I have noticed my hair getting way less damage when I use heat tools on it which I'm very impressed with. I usually don't really notice much protection from other heat protecting products. But this one does as it claims. It also makes styling time shorter and leaves hair nice and smooth and no flyaways

Does not leave any residue on my styling tools as I have experienced from other products in the past.
