just hooked it up today but we had a wireless one just like it and we liked it a lot. lots of nice features not sure we will ever use them now because we have a smart tv now with netflix and all the other things but one never knows.

It's an HD player that plays HD great. It is minimalistic .. so nothing gets in the way or clutters. Just what you need. Put disc in and it plays HD perfectly.

Received this unit as a Christmas gift, it did not come with an hdmi cable. The operating instructions book states that they supply one. Have not yet tested out the actual product yet.

We can play his CD's and DVD on one device. The picture on the screen is so vibrant and amazing we love this player.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Blu-ray disc player is super easy to set up, and has a crisp, clear playback, as one would expect out of a Blu-ray disc player. It size is not overly cumbersome or large, as when they were first coming out in production. I'm totally satisfied with its performance and am sure you will be, also!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had my original blue ray player go out and decided to replace with this Sony BDP-S1700. Out of the box, I was happy with the minimalistic design on the unit. Installing it was a breeze, hooking up my HDMI & power cable. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease of use and the clarity of the dvd output that was displayed on my tv. Maybe it was just mental, but even non-Blue Ray DVDs appeared more crisp than the traditional DVD player. I haven't had a chance to plug this in via Ethernet to stream and honestly don't plan on it as I have other WiFi streaming devices. Overall, I am happy with this unit and wouldn't hesitate buying again
